Cabin Rentals (Stevenson's) |

We'll be renting whole cabin privately as well as individual bunks.
Bunk: $10 / weekend
Private Cabin: $150 / weekend (19 bunks total)
There are six cabins up for rent. Each cabin has a total of 19 beds. All the cabins have electricity and heat.
We will assign bunks spaces / cabins for May. If we are permitted to return, we would be happy to start the 'reserving a cabin for the season' process. If a camp wishes to obtain a cabin for the whole season, they may do so.
RENTING A CABIN - RENTAL AGREEMENT
Cabin users will now be required to sign an agreement to use the bunks (just a little one, mostly dealing with cleaning up afterwards! I assure you, there are no sneaky clauses.)
Everyone who uses an individual bunk will be collectively responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of game. Individual bunk users will be required to 'sign out' before they leave. I will know who was there, and if the cabin is not cleaned up afterwards, I WILL send a sternly worded email about it. Our new site is really beautiful, and has amazing facilities, and we want to continue to play there.
If renting a private cabin, we ask that one person sign the agreement and be responsible for the whole cabin. They will be the one paying and making sure the cabin gets cleaned up afterwards. Since we are giving a discount (like $40, that's basically 4 free bunks) to anyone who wants to rent a whole cabin, we expect that you will all share the cost of renting a private cabin. If we find out that someone rents a whole cabin, then charges people more than their fair share to stay in the cabin (whatever that may be, i.e. if the one who rents the cabin makes off wit money), that person will not be permitted to rent a cabin again.
CABINS ARE IN GAME SPACES
We expect players to remain IG in their cabins at all times, bags and items included, expected for designated OOG bags (which should be clearly marked with white tape / ribbon. Rules about 'tent raiding' (that a Marshal must be present if you wish to steal from someone or go through their items) continue to apply.
PAYING
You may reserve or pre-pay for a Cabin or Bunk. You can pay on site at logistics or pay in advance online to guarantee yourself a spot.
E-transfer: Ivanna@underworldralinwood.ca
PayPal: paypal.me/ralinwood
LOCKS
Cabins may not be locked unless an IG lock exists. Locks will work on the cabins as they are permanent structures. The lock must be approved by a marshall, tagged and repped appropriately as per the rulebook. Cabins may never be OOG locked.
COMBAT
Combat in cabins is permitted but we ask that you be mindful of the building and furniture.
STEALING
The rules for searching someone's possessions in a cabin are the same as in a tent - you must have a marshal present. If you are not one of the individuals renting the cabin, you may not enter without a marshal or renter present, or without a renter's invitation. As with tents, we ask that you clearly mark your OOG possessions with something white.
How to book
You can book cabins once Prelog opens for that event.
First come first serve.
Please email ivanna@underworldralinwood.ca to book spaces.

Medical Hold Chit System |

One of the (very few) ways you may be OOG while game is running is while being on a medical hold.
We understand that sometimes people need to go on medical holds from game. We have medical marshals to keep you safe, to keep others safe, and to keep others who want to stay IG, safely IG. If you're feeling unwell or overwhelmed (this includes if you are having a mental health issue), you can ask for a medical marshal to medical you out, and they'll give you a medical chit so everyone knows you can be OOG while you recover.
WHAT THIS MEANS.
If you must go Out Of Game for medical reasons, you must get a piece of paper from a Medical Marshal that in effect gives you "permission" to be OOG for the duration of your medical hold. This is your OOG medical hold chit. You cannot be OOG without a medical marshal’s written note on you. If you cannot show the medical hold chit when asked by a Shaper / NPC / marshal, you are not considered OOG.
You may go OOG for the purpose of finding a medical marshal for yourself. If you cannot go yourself, you may send ONE person OOG to find a medical marshal for you.
You can take your medical hold in your tent, in or at your car, or in the medical cabin. You are also allowed to leave site - but let NPC Camp know if you're leaving site while on a medical hold, and check in when you come back.
You cannot take your medical hold in an In Game space. Please be considerate of others while on your medical hold.
Once you are finished your break, you can ask to be taken out of the medical hold. In order to be taken out of the medical hold, you find a Medical Marshal and they'll clear you to go back into game.
This system also applies to sleeping Out Of Game. We recognize that some people have to sleep OOG out of necessity).
In order to sleep OOG, you must have the 'medical hold chit' as well as indicate that your tent / cabin / etc are OOG while you sleep. They are only OOG for as long as you are asleep. Only a medical marshal in NPC Camp can give you your "sleep OOG" chit. There are special rules for sleeping OOG - if you haven't already been given the rules, you can email contact@underworldralinwood.ca or come see NPC camp before game to make sure you know the rules.
If you do not have the required visible indicators that you are sleeping OOG, your tent / cabin / pavilion / hobbit hole / den / lair / hidey-hole / cavern / hole in the ground / coffin / tomb / what-have-you is not OOG.
Please direct questions / comments / concerns / complaints to contact@underworldralinwood.ca.
Otherwise - happy dying!
*As always - if I have made a typo, please tell me and I will correct it. It is apparent that I am not the best editor and I accept this reality, and gratefully accept improvements.*

What Happens In Game |

Sometimes, things happen In Game, and those things are amazing and exciting and make you feel heroic. Something, things happen In Game that make you feel furious or cry inconsolably or creep you out or terrify you. Sometimes, things happen in game that frustrate you or make you feel foolish. All these experiences - and the feelings - are one of the BEST parts of LARPing in an immersive world like ours! We play in an immersive world, and a big, BIG part of that is the role playing, the choices, the feels that happen. A good immersive LARP SHOULD make you feel all these things, and more!
And of course you want to talk about it between games. Especially with the people who lived those experiences with you. It's exciting and engaging and immersive to relive those experiences, share excitement, vent that frustration. And that's what good friends are for.
Sometimes, things happen In Game that you hate. Someone makes a bad decision, something unfair happens to you, a fight or trial or plotline doesn't go the way you wanted or expected. Something happens that makes your character furious or resentful. And those are powerful emotions. And of course you want to talk about these experiences between games too! You want to solve the problem, change the course of a storyline, correct a mistake. Negative emotions - and especially powerful negative emotions - are another important experience in a good immersive LARP. Especially in an 18+ dark/horror themed LARP like ours. It adds depth to characters, dimension to stories and really drives home how real and terrifying our world is to all of us.
But when Bad Things Happen In Game, things can start to get messy Out of Game. You, the player, want to vent and rage Out of Game about what happened to your character In Game - something unfair or stupid or evil or maybe something just plain bad. Or maybe you want to solve the problem. Or you just want to relive the experience, or even just share something exciting or powerful with other people.
But... when Bad Things happen In Game... The SOLUTIONS also need to happen In Game.
When Bad Things happen In Game to our characters... We need to remember that these things happened to our characters. When other characters do something In Game that makes us mad - we need to remember that these things happened In Game. When plot puts you in a challenging or difficult place In Game - we need to remember that these things happened In Game. When an NPC does something that you think is unfair or evil or just plain stupid In Game - we need to remember that these things happened In Game. The problem that just happened In Game, happened between characters.
So of course - share What Happens In Game experiences: your frustrations, your excitement and anger and joy and sadness and failures and successes. But please remember, that What Happens In Game did not happen to you, the player. The player or NPC or Shaper who did the Bad Things In Game did not do those things to you, the player - they did them In Game, to your character. That means that the solutions to these problems should occur In Game. Metagaming is not the answer. (Metagaming is never the answer). Harassing, blaming, or raging against a fellow player, an NPC, or a shaper Out of Game will not solve your In Game problem. Harassing a person OOG for their actions IG is literally just that - harassment. And we at Underworld do not tolerate harassment of players OOG.
We recognize of course that sometimes bad judgement calls are made Out of Game, by other players, by plot, or by us (the Owners). When this happens, we as Owners, listen to your concerns, look at the issue, see what went wrong, and, hopefully, fix the Out of Game problem. If you have a complaint about how a player, NPC or shaper has been treating you Out of Game, or if the Bad Things are too much, please come talk to us (Dan and myself) or email contact@underworldralinwood.ca. We are always willing to listen to your concerns, and will do our utmost to address them.
That being said... Remember that we are all people, and fundamentally, we are all friends here. Be kind to your friends. Plot is mean enough for everyone.
So let’s all keep in mind... What Happens In Game... Happens In Game.
