Bizarre Bazaar - Event Review
#1
Great game everyone! Big thank you to our Shapers and NPCs. So much hard work went into the event and we appreciate every bit.

And without any further ado...

What did you like, what needs improvement, and what were your most exciting stories / moments / interactions.

Pros
-Tons of good games to and shenanigans this event, especially loved the chaos surrounding THE WHEEL... OF... misFORTUNE!!!
-Getting to do a bunch of drunk RPing, its been a while since I've stretched those limbs and it feels pretty good to have an excuse.
-Will Apostolos' NPC was a blast to hang out with!
-Was glad to see a healthy amount of combat thrown into the evening, even is they all got sapped, garroted, or slept for the most part. Shame the Einher had to get killed though. (just a quick side note ad suggestion, in the future I was wondering if NPC Einher could be identified as to what clan they hail from. As another Einher being able to tell if NPC's have any affiliation with my own would be really nice for RP and other stuff)
-Finally coming out of a game with a positive gold/loot increase!
-THE KRAKEN WAS F@#% AMAZING!!! Took me a moment to fully realize what the thing was with all the pink ppol noodles but it was a blast to fight against, even if I got sheered in half.

Cons
-Was a little disappointing that the strong man contest never happened, but I was having so much fun I didn't even realize until after game had wrapped.
-Hit my thumb in a bad way now its sore :'(

Overall, another excellent game. Felt like I got to do a ton of stuff with all the PC's and NPC's, and there wasn't a moment where I was bored!

9/10, would get sheered in half be a giant sea monster again.

Pros:
+The amount of things available to do was great and really made for keeping people entertained.
+The grand return of the -WHEEL O' DOOM- made me giggle and have flashbacks to my first year of underworld with Swiggins dying at the WHEEL O' DOOM. A+
+The Kraken and all the work into making that fight a huge extravaganza was awesome, cheers to all the Shapers and NPCs for really turning up the dial on good times.
++Absolutely nuking myself in the maw of the beast was made great by the reactions people got at my hand held high with the trigger in hand. I loved seeing peoples' faces at that.
++Huntington of the Monster Hunter Guild, you made my game 100% complete.

Cons:
The marchantile gear I did see available was pretty focused onto alchemical stuff and trinkets which is good but I feel like there wasn't much other variety. I may have just missed things but form what I saw available it was kinda lacking. Apologies if I simply just missed things.

Highlights:
1-Trying to take the raiding boat with Blank, Captain Blankbeard will always be a thing.
2-Winning a magnificent beard, such dwarven majesty.
3-KA-BOOM!~

This was a great event. 10/10
A Soot-coated and oddly thin human wearing a strange tattered cloak, torn pants, and a variety of pouches and containers. His pony-tail appears to be singed and he smells of blast powder and a hint of honey.

Great game!

I enjoyed:
+ All the food!
+ All the combat at a tavern night. The close quarters made it more frantic. Lots of running around kept me on my toes.
+ Ursel's necromantic arts class!
+ THE KRAKEN! Massive damage, man. I almost died several times, and my potions finally got used. It was fun to see a mechanic that didn't normally work in the past work well for the first time (to my knowledge)

I disliked:
-The merchants didn't really have anything I found useful, and that was a focus of the event.
An Einher from clan Lofoten, he wears black chainmail and carries a large polearm.

goodness gracious, what a night.

pros:
-a lot of variety in activities and merchant sales
-THE WHEEL. OF. (mis)FORTUNE!
-Good pacing with the combat raids.
-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOZE
-The potluck! As well as how efficient everyone was in cleaning up after the potluck.
-THE KRRRRRACKEN

Cons:
-Completely forgot about the token stuff. I felt that there wasn't enough to foreshadow what was going on and when i found out, it wasn't as exciting.
-As much as I liked the fights and the variety of things that came out, still couldn't wrap around my head what the einher were all about. (which i have a feeling might have been something that i comepletely missed which is fine)
-Watch your swings, people! Saw that some npcs had to call that during the many raids.

Moments:
-THE DRINKING GAAAAAAAAMES
-Everyone trying to beat Cora in one of the drinking games
-Hop-pots and sgt caterpillar!
-"physical pull!" "OH COME ON!!!"
-krank's beard
Cora Lapideum- Sister to gargylen and greenkin
Female gargylen with marble-like skin, messy hair and gems poking from her cheeks. Often seen with a purple and white chicken and has two swords belted to her hip.

Remember when you first started and you had to work as a team to take down some huge threat (back then it was probably a well equipped goblin or two orcs)?
That squid mod felt like that...and I LOVED it!

Lots of sketchbags to test our new wardens which was nice.
Dan's drunk was a good sport. We put that guy through a lot. I hope to see him again...but like the last time I saw him the Kracken was whipping him around like a rag doll so I'm not holding my breath.

You guys made exceptional use of that space. That site is really great and all the old people were a delight to talk to. One old guy walked by me and goes "well shtt I think we missed a hell of a party "

That fucking wheel.Someone honestly said"Well he's not breaking the law" while there were two bodies laying at my feet. What the fuck Ralinwood make better life choices.

Cons.
More non alchemy vendors would have been cool. The prices were a little inconsistent. Michael actually had a really good idea of values though so maybe next time have him coach the merchants? That being said trading tags is my favorite thing so I'm probably being picky.

^ This was the absolute highlight of my evening. If Pawp! had been there she probably would have fainted from sheer admiration. For two years I have always wanted to see that bad boy go off and I literally got a front row seat when it did.

The Good
- All around good game. The NPCs were working hard and had some really charming characters.
- The space. Just a really nice one, felt good for a tavern night since we could sprawl out a bit. The last felt a bit tight for the crowd we had.
- The Kraken reps were fun, even though the pool noodles were frustrating. As butthurt as I want to be about their reach and how hard t was to avoid them (the general wiggles might tap you even if their initial swing missed) after some consideration it does make sense for a giant dickhole squid to have long and obnoxious tentacle grabbers.

The Less Good
- Combat was fine but seemed a little disjointed? I missed it just wasn’t given a description that the einher raiders had arrived by boat, had to ask and pass it around. The murkers felt a little out of left field as a follow up, and I have no idea why the Kraken arrived, even thought it was a really cool final fight.
- The weird floating objects and status effects never really had a payoff? If this was to set up another encounter, please disregard, but it felt kinda random. Which brings me to...
- The Bazaar wasn’t really that Bizarre. The races were all core rulebook and they were selling (mostly) mundane items. I went in thinking it would be an event to buy and sell some weird shit, and desperately traded for tokens hoping that backroom would pay off in that way, but that wasn’t really the case. Just wish that had been explored a little more.

Personal Highlights
- Debating the alchemy game host on her exact wording and Cat’s deadpan “ten acid” when I no-effected the death alchemy.
- The Wheel of Misfortune, specifically the town of floating eyes. “Eye blacksmith. Eye doctor.” Wait fuck that was a pun.
- The new and exciting ways people shyly and politely try to ask if I am in fact a vampire. They always seem so worried about offending Carrion.
- “GET OUT, WE’RE NIGHT FIGHTING.” And “Now mess up my hair.”
- THEY SENT OUT THE ELF after I had given up hope both IG and OOG. and Rio played him (very well good job) after months of us joking about that.
IG: A human man in a crow skull mask, grey stole, and black clerical vestments. Occasionally carries an iron or silver dagger, but more often seen without any visible weapons or amour to speak of.

OOG: Danny Heintz, he/him. Transmasc in progress, please disregard mine bræsts.

The Good:
• THAT WHEEEEEEEEEEEL. It was worth all the pain and hassle and shatterskulls. I loved it and nearly spun it in the middle of the Kraken fight for the lols before I realized our healers were tapped and I died the last time I touched it.
• Drinking games were fun, I'm sorry for the (failed) betrayal, Cora. We all knew you were the most likely to win.
• Alexander and his sudden race change. 10/10 would give elven dating/how to spend your new long lifespan advice again.
• Krankshaft's spectacular explosion. The hype I felt when I heard that hold get called was unreal.

The Less Good:
• The merchants didn't really have that much of interest to me? There were like 3 selling alchemy, one selling some really terrible magic items... maybe I missed a bunch but I was kind of disappointed considering how much the merchants were hyped. I agree with Danny saying it didn't feel very Bizarre.
• I think the final Kraken thing would have benefited from a marshal or quick hold explaining how the maw worked. There was a lot of confusion about the pulls and if we could move or fight or anything. Otherwise a good fight.

The Highlights:
• Sprinting away from angry Therians while elbow deep in a bag of Kraken goop
• "YOU TOLD ME TO LICK IT AND MY HEAD EXPLODED"
• "Is this your first arrest?"
Ori Moran: A purple feathered Avian with a red hat who carries a black and white shield. She has three Shadow Marks over one eye and a scar through the other.

Nelinha: Some asshole Ice Elf. Has a bright red hooded scarf and a black winged brooch.

-I GOT A GOAT FINALLY! Baby steps...
-I had fun with the riddles
-I enjoyed the various NPCs I talked to
-Food! The contest was fun and it was delicious!
-Chatting with new/new to me people
-Ursel's lesson with Mialha's narration, disjointed though it was
-The games and such were pretty neat, though I didn't play too many of them

The medium
-Once again there were a lot of things happening that I couldn't figure out. Maybe I am asking the wrong people and/or maybe town is too jaded when random weird things start happening :p
-Also disappointed that I couldn't do any of the shopping I actually wanted to do, though I have other options there
