Monarch of the Moon (Sept 19th, 6:50pm)

[Zia Sashana]

Zia nods thoughtfully as she listens to Carrion's answer. "Keeping secrets is a barrier to keeping others informed though. How do you negotiate the desire to serve your god and the knowledge that sometimes keeping secrets can lead to others being harmed?"

[Carrion]

"Oh, that's simple. I don't. I learn enough that I can satisfy my worship and still be an asset to this town. The devoted of Dietremen cannot thrive in the ruins of a civilization, and to let someone come to harm simply to preserve a secret sacrifices countless I may have learned from them. I've ever been asked to send letters explaining all this to those that think differently and have endangered the people near them in the past. It's possible to balance secrecy with noble intentions, if you're willing to put in the effort."

He sighs. "I admit this isn't the same for all my kind. There's nothing I fear more than a brother or sister in faith, because I know how cunning they can be, and nothing in our worships defines morality. It is all about personal action, for good or ill."

[Zia Sashana]

"Thank you, Carrion," Zia says, perhaps a twinge wistfully. "That's a solid answer."

[Riven Shadowlight]

"What's he look like? Has anyone seen him?" Riven asks swallowing the remnants of his cookie

[Carrion]

"From what I've heard, he is as androgynous and slight. It's funny, I always used to imagine him as tall. Anyway, of all the gods, Dietremen is perhaps the least human in appearance. His skin is like the night sky, just darkness and and countless tiny stars. Where his face should be is a glimpse at the crescent moon." He smiles fondly. "I can't imagine what it would be like, to see him in person. A walking piece of the sky."

[Juniper]

Juniper raises her hand. "Are there guidelines that determine whether a secret is worthy of your god or not? I'd imagine some secrets are worth more than others. How do you figure out the weight of a secret?"

[Promises]

Sevatar walks into sight holding a chair again. He sets it up and sits down and listens.

[Carrion]

"I can speak only for myself in this, as everyone worships differently, and weighs their secrets based on personal opinion. I consider a few things. How dangerous it is to the subject, for example. How few people know, since really there's no limit to how many can know a secret, provided it's kept from the one person you don't want knowing.

"With that in mind, I try to choose something that is a personal sacrifice. Like I told Zia, I don't barter with the town's safety. If a secret is important enough to me that I feel tempted to keep it for my own use, or I have one I feel should be known only by Dietremen, it is worthy of sacrifice. Not if it would simply be convenient to me, and not if it would harm Ralinwood."

[Promises]

"What does Dietremen do to protect secrets that can never be known by anyone, even the person they're stuck in the head of?"

[Juniper]

Juniper nods and smiles. "It sounds like you think things through carefully. It's a little relieving to know you consider the town's safety."
