That's the Spirit! Sept 1 Review Thread
#11
Pros:

-Opening night rp with Magnar. was fun even though i fell a few times.
-everything about the Wendigo. TTA TT Shane, y u make me cry my red away? the town cheering "JAVA! JAVA!" was so touching.
-the rope mod! Big Grin i loved repelling down a mountain.
-meeting actual rain.
"Hi, Dream Lady!"
"FUCK OFF."

-being possessed and trying to kill all the fae. Big Grin snarly pawp! is snarly.
-hanging out with Orok'grim alone and learning more about him
-Banana shenannigans
-Selling that ugly ass tiger statue
-The sewer/rat mod was super enjoyable. XD "I found a half eaten pickle! Big Grin"
-Getting to fight all my friends
-coming up with all the names for Aldos and making it worse every time. and calling Peresh 'Precious.' And being hurriedly corrected that they're called Avians and not Turkey Feathers.

NPCing:
-Playing a bat and getting 'captured' by Blank. and then by Eris.
-The dying owl. i was a badger at the time but it was fun

Cons:
-Had a bad fall on friday night and hurt my leg. Not terribly badly but enough to sting the rest of the weekend.
-Fog effect on dark night mod with obstacles around.
-waiting in the cold for almost an hour.
-Immersion breaking (again). There was only one bad incident of it this weekend but I must ask everyone; we pay a lot to be here and in-game so let's respect each other's investment. Not doing so, especially after being asked, is very rude.
-I get twitchy in NPC camp when i'm not out on a role so having to wait almost two hours...
-*joking con* I find your lack of cockatrices disturbing.

SIDE NOTE:
Abitosh is the best spelling i have seen yet.
A rotund kobold. 2ft tall. Often seen in a brown cloak.

For my second game it was really awesome! Being able to RP and meet people allows me to drop my usual social barriers and I'M glad to have made so many great friends!

What I liked:
~Not constantly running and screaming form things and being able to actually fight stuff (sorry but the Morty thing was my first game and I wanted to be able to fight shit XD)
~super intense Java Execution/Wendigo fight. I actually almost cried! The RP was intense and the Savar, Moon, is a hero!
~Being possessed was fun, saying I wanted to kill true Fae and being able to be stupid but not dying because people cared enough to not kill me XD
~Getting free bananas
~Meeting more new characters and the RPing involved!

What I did not like:
~Wasting time at a god damn rock wall just to go all the way around it........
~THE GOD DAMN BADGERS!!!!!!!!!

I cannot think of a better possible retirement. It was lovely playing with you all as Lilith. Thanks to Max, Dan, Ramsay and Rio especially. <3

Be seeing you, my dears.

You did it Cat. You did what every PC should try to attain.

You became a mod boss.

Pros:
-Getting possessed Friday night
-Getting charmed, wondering in the woods alone and then running into the Wendigo, getting killed, then being eaten by such Wendigo.
-Dying for the first time.
-Watching the Spirit fight was awesome.
- Got a lot of heals in.
-Got to NPC for the first time, that was pretty cool to see all the behind scene stuff.
- All the RPing throughout the weekend was great.
Cons:
Just the confusion with being possessed/if it ended at bleed count or not
Neutral:
-Missing some mods that looked cool because I was NPCing.
A friendly , well dressed and unusual High Elf with long brown hair, who carries a trusty Elvin dagger.

Oh, wait, I actually do have a thing to complain about:

Y'all can remember that my 'name' is Lilith in game, and murkers go 'bloop' and all the crap - but you can't remember somebody's pronouns? I get that people fuck it up sometimes (I do), but if you fuck it up *repeatedly* in the same conversation after being corrected, I'm pretty sure you're not trying. It takes the most minuscule effort to think about pronouns before you speak. Our trans players are always super gracious about this shit despite having to correct people over and over. It's the least you can do. And no "I'll never be able to remember that". Have you ever passed any class before? You can remember it. You just aren't putting in the effort. Put in the effort.

So, this was the first time I have spent a full weekend at Ralinwood. I loved it. A lot. Reminded me why I LARP.

Pros:
-Being a wizard. May not be the best mage, or the best caster. But I will fight whomever says I am not the best wizard.
-By the above comment I mean that I appreciate how you all make tradesman skills relevant, and are willing to at least humour ideas put forth by the players, whether they are going to work or not.
-Dustin. Everything you do is gold.
-There definitely felt like some cause and effect this game. I like it.
-New player mod went really well, and I am glad to see it. Thanks for helping, Jada!

Cons.
-None that I can think of. Game was really solidly run.

Robyn did not go out for laughs or shock value. I see your point in that it looks like a pattern. Robyn legitimately likes to express herself that way. I'm not sure how she acted when she went out, but to my understanding, she attempted to be careful and tasteful and perform the role without mockery.

However, if you feel it is coming across as tasteless, we will not send her out as a male prostitute again.
