A Change of Pace: Event Review
#11
Highlights:
+ A lot of time and effort went into a PC driven plot I shoved forward. Thanks, guys.
+ Got trolled by Brian 5/7 would collect mages again.
+ Kraye <3 Awoowoowoo.
+ I really enjoy those 1 to 1 talks Sevatar gets with people about life, the world, and everything else. Usually the else is Dragons. For those of you who I managed to have it with, y'all did great. Even if you have religious beliefs that Sevatar most definitely doesn't have. Which is a lot of you. How do I end up having so many of those talks?
+ Breakfast.
+ NPC Camp was clearly pushing themselves to their limit for us. I appreciate it, guys. Setting up and timing things like you did is an insane amount of logistics and organizing effort that we don't really see on our end necessarily.
+ DUSTIN'S SWAMPWALKED DRAGON'S FEARED SPIDER. <3

Oh! I have thought of a genuine criticism!

- The Mage's Collective mod. Although I loved it ever so much 'cause it was hilarious and challenging, I am not a fan of having the loot for a group mod be one item, which can't really be shared. That's not particularly cool, even though the item was

What followed Saturday night's ritual mod after the majority of the town left the mod site was the highlight of the weekend. A+ for Robin's RP of the situation. Kudos to the others that were on hand as well.

Always fun playing poker with people for IG coin. Good group of players having fun and enjoying each other's company

Jaquir the Cockaroach!

Finally getting some personal plot thrown my way without having to hound plot to get it or being super power hungry to instigate it. Thank you and I look forward to seeing where it leads. Very much so.

I enjoyed having human cultists to fight and demons and a few other things thrown into the mix as the last time I was out there were mostly animals and elementals and not much else. Huge monster manual gives plenty of ammunition. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Tormenting Demetria *evil grin* Always so much fun. Picking on the nicest person in Ralinwood brings sooooo much pleasure to Drakkon's little black heart. "Stop picking on her! That's not nice." "Uh, hello........pirate?" lol Smile

Oh Lady Aminata........heh heh. Cold hearted and calculating, says I

Hearing Aminata call after Zaydesh. Get my gear together, tell her I'll go find him and keep looking, and hear as I'm walking away her telling someone not to worry about myself heading off into the dark alone because I'm quite accomplished at what I do definitely put a smile on my face.

Finding Zaydesh in the dark and solo. Move down the path to the creek solo in the dark watching the bushes all about and listening for any type of movement and come to a complete stop with stiletto and axe ready when I hear slight movement. After two more sounds of movement in the bushes just up a head and to the left...."You might as well come out. I know yer fuckin' there" . Out pops Zaydesh. Ha! Drakkon succeeds at finding his target yet again Big Grin

Being the non-magical person who figured out that the elemental shards were what was needed to drop the domes after turning the fire one over to Sevatar minutes earlier thinking they were useless. Ha!

Singing for Lilith in the cabin while she re-memorized. Thank you for being kind with your praise, Kat. I've definitely done better at karaoke before. Thought I could have done alot better then personally.

No complaints for anything that Plot or the owners have any control of. Not the funnest game in my opinion but was definitely enjoyable

Ah yes.....being the one to find Baruk's trick loot box in a tree along a path at 6am Saturday morning. Spent 10 minutes trying to figure out if it were trapped without setting off said trap or traps only to find it being a completely empty box.

Funniest part of my whole weekend Smile

Pros.
Everyone's reactions to my comments about me and mylenes domestic life.Watching your faces and seeing you all back up was HILARIOUS.
Brians journals.
Watching someone try to charm sevatar and set off his reflect magic hahaha.
The last mod, it made the rain and the soreness worthwhile. The fights were so satisfying.

Cons.
I saw a few players call miscant on npcs. I still feel like that's poor sportsmanship but hey,if you're bad at fighting I guess you need to make up for it somehow.

Oh my where to start? Both Josh and I had a wonderful game

+ fainting sheep
+ RP coming back, and explaining that I'm NOT an ice elf
+ making friends with lady Aminata <3
+ demons drop some hilarious loot. I'm going to enjoy having the "Mortal minions and You" book for a while
+ WATER ELEMENTALS! My babies! I was hoping the rain would bring some. I was absolutely beaming getting to interact with all of them. I have waited over a year for that moment, thank you so much <3
+ the lightning strikes during the final mod
+ Wizwik's amazing lifesaving device
+ getting woken up to people freaking out about Shamus getting pulled through a portal, just to be grumpy about it always happening.

And finally, the Titan RP. I am so beyond flattered that you guys catered to two visitors like you did. It was the most amazing visual set up walking in, and the atmosphere was intense. Seeing all four repped and having the privilege to meet them before anyone else was just astounding. Elemental plot means so much to me and it was absolutely beautiful. You certainly put us on the spot, and hopefully we didn't let you down.
Thank you thank you thank you!

if they are playing a mage, they have to play it right, this is why i always ask who knows x sphere of magic well when i choose rolls for npcs.  there is a reason a lot of the mages i play have a psi blades Wink

As for that short time of downtime: The way the database works is that you can put a percentage maximum on each NPC shift, however, you cannot put a percentage minimum. This resulted in a couple shifts with 9 shifties followed by a shift with only 3 during a relatively busy time of the day. And for every shift NPC we don't have, we have one more PC IG so the ratios can get screwed quite quickly sometimes and we still had plot to run. It's an imperfect system but we try to work with what we have.

It's interesting to see what people like and don't like though. Trying to maintain a cohesive plot while shifting under PC decisions we don't expect makes for a very anxious weekend, but sometimes it's the improvisation that shines brightest and this event is definitely a prime example of that. You crazy people never cease to surprise me with your actions.
