"I am interested in what sort of law system they plan on implementing here in the new town and who will enforce it." He says to no one in particular.

*Jaren comes over*

"I heard something about A Healing Circle for swearing fealty to the Lords and Lady?"

[¸ ¸]

*Philip smiles wide as Levi brings the food.*
"What a treat, usually I serve the food."
"Lots of questions then. Our three nobles will be visiting to meet all of you soon. When they come you'll be offered the chance to swear fealty to them."
*He claps his hands.*
"Once sworn to one of them you'll gain the benefits they offer, some legal protections, and pay taxes. Lady Urquat will be using the taxes to fund healing circles in the camp of her sworn adventurers, and that sort of thing. For those of you who keep your purse tight I have heard Lord Bantry will charge minimal taxes, but you'll be mostly fending for yourself otherwise."

*still massaging*
"What does swearing fealty mean? What...what if we're already sworn citizens to someone else, somewhere else?"

[Andrei Katrares]

*Levi waits for Philip to finish, then asks.*

"That is useful to know, thank you Philip. I am curious now, though, would you be able to tell us anything about our third Lord, Lord Vintner?"

[Iris Emberlain]

"And what if we're already sort of, you know, beholden to the Duvainian Navy? Is our fealty to the Lords already assumed?"

[Bal'diroth]

Bal'diroth is leaning against the tree, frowning slightly as he listens in silence to the conversation.

"I hope lords and lady are prepared to speak to the locals. We do not need a war."

"You'll need to ask each noble what they require from those who swear to them. If your sworn elsewhere it will depend on the nature of your oath. If your sworn to a god Lady Urquat will have little interest in you."

"Lord Vintner is of wood fae lineage and very attuned with nature as you would expect. In his previous expeditions he has made sure indigenous peoples and the lands were properly supported. He has always been very live and let live, he will not interfere in the lives of his banner men much."

"Oh, and it should be said Lord Bantry has a distaste for elves. Rumor has it he once offered a bounty for their ears. Mind you he'd never support murder."

"Is Lady Urquat a dragon follower? And, um, human?"
