Tides of War - June Event Review
#1
The good, the bad, but leave the ugly comments to yourself.  This was a hot one and some unfortunate circumstances arose which could not be avoided for the sake of the safety of the PCs and NPC team.  I am hopeful that this didn't inconvenience you all too too much.

Pros: *JULIA! And all the other people who helped keep us alive this game, that med hold for a swim saved my life!
*Party
*The Birthday Dingo
*Grabbing that bird that turned out to lead other people into a little plot, always nice to help
*meeting some new friend
*"Protect the environment, or I'll fucking kill you!"

Cons:*popping my shoulder out first night and the heat, none of that was the games fault and thou some things seemed low energy I for one did not have energy to burn in the heat we had, so all and all great game!

Cons:
- Folks, know your limits. Obviously this isn't something NPC camp can control, but don't ignore any warning signs your body gives you.
- The rulebook changes are still leading to some small, but still immersion breaking, things. I know this'll go away in time.

Pros:
+ Firstborn gatherings.
+ Watching the Bounty Hunter's guild start to function on its own.
+ Wonderful roleplay. It's this part that keeps me coming out to game even when that damnable star in the sky attempts to murder us all.

Looking forward to seeing the lot of you again.

All around great event

Pros
The NPC's, Monster Marshals, Medical Marshals and everyone for not making us run in the heat, you da best!
The event seemed well stated on NPC end
All the new players, Jericho players or returning players I met for the first time
SHAMUS! MORE DWARVES!
Dustin and Michael Tommaso, you guys are awesome. most fun crunchy i've played.
The 1 on 1 with the birthday demons and fathers day demon. We need more of that one on one stuff!

Cons
If i'm just out of the loop disregard, but the Mist marauder mod seemed very random. All weekend had a theme and then a randomly Einher Berserkers and a vampire just stroll into town for seemingly no reason.

Had a wonderful time this weekend. Thank you to everyone.
It was an odd experience feeling like a new character and having to make new connections, but having experience behind me.

Again thank you for an amazing weekend. I will definitely be back.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

The Mist Marauders are recurring pains in our sides (ongoing plot) that is a great way to live up to the Run Fight Hide motto that has made Underworld so much fun without necessarily needing high body counts or stupid amounts of death effects to be scary. Enjoy them Brandon and the fear they bring with them.

Pros:

The Tavern was really well done. Thank you to the PCs helping out and all those inside doing the cooking around the clock. The burgers had great flovour to them, the pancakes filling, and the staff taking the orders and seeing that they got to the right people were great.

The Mist Marauder raid. Love them on an out of game level since we aren't hammered every game with them and how they are very challenging yet there is a chance to fight them and win while it is high risk to do so initially. This, in my opinion, is soooooo much better than nasties with Massive damage or the stupid amounts of death effects being used in Jericho. The creepiness of the screams and intenseness of the creatures is awesome and needs to be nurtured in my opinion. Great job all around to those involved in this mod.

Mr. Stab Happy and all the mischief revolving around having him. Definitely worth having him made Smile

Cons:

The medical break to go swimming. Forced to take a break from even RPing was overkill in my opinion. Effectively shutting down the game to allow those who wanted to go for a swim and while others weren't interested in going was a low part for me. Restricting things to RP roles and allowing players to remain in-game while still allowing those who had the gear to go swimming and were wanting to head off to do so without missing anything of importance is how things should have been handled in my opinion. I'm hoping that this is not going to be a recurring trend. I found Saturday slow enough as it was without having this forced break.

Lack of variety of monsters. I haven't been to game in months so won't claim to know the ongoing plot at the moment other than the infection bit but only seeing Murkers Friday night and Mist Marauders Saturday while having the rest of the weekend flooded with animals and fire elementals is a tad bit boring. I know there was some fungal creatures at one point as well but the sparse amount of other creatures of the mundane squishy bits type from the plethora of them in the Monster Manual is a tad bit boring as well. Variety is the spice of life after all. Try to avoid falling into a rut with your enemies for us please.

Wandering the woods for almost an looking for meteor rocks after being told that we have to go out and find them for what was needed and not finding a single insta-mod or a stash of the rocks in the woods or unused camp, or encountering roving bands of NPCs. Things like this leads to players just sitting around waiting for hooks to go on mods in town center instead of going out on their own looking to do things. Insta-mod hunters that go out and try to grab them all up for themselves can be annoying so I understand not wanting to use them since there are times with the same person or small group shows up with a large number of them but wandering about the site for an hour or so and not encountering a single thing can be annoying and leads to one just sitting around and waiting for something to happen. The fact that fire elementals would show up to town center and just shit them out as loot after being told that we had to go looking for them was definitely annoying after myself and a few others spent so much time out in the heat of the wood scouring them looking for any trace of the meteor rocks.

I had a good time this weekend though it was mostly due to the roleplay being had with a handful of NPCs and mostly PCs.

6 out of 10 in my books.

Great event, of all the ones I have been too... only a few due to work and other personal reasons...This one had its high points.

Friday night was Great, fighting evil by moonlight (winning love by daylight?) was fantastic, Great effort by all the NPC people.

Saturday was SO BLOODY HOT! thank you whoever came up with the Medical beach hold, Im not sure of exact numbers but Im pretty sure we would have had several more people with heat related issues if it had not been called. Night time was amazing, the campfire we started was perfect, I always want to make one in the summer, it just makes it so much better.

Sunday was great, bit of combat, not to crazy, since it started to heat up pretty quickly.

I hope everyone is feeling okay and was nice and cool once they got home after game was called!!

SEE YOU IN AUGUST!!!
