To Dream, Perchance to Die: Event Review
#1
Hey all.

This weekend seemed pretty tiring all around so you be sure to enjoyr a nice shower, fresh clothes, and maybe even a little long weekend refreshing beverage.  You deserve it to be sure.  Once you're nice and comfy, I invite you to take a moment and let us know what you thought of the weekend.  Some things are unavoidable, but if we can make your experience better, you can bet we'll give it a shot.  And hey, we on the plot and management side of things aren't above soaking in the positives as well.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekends, everyone!

Tired. Sore. Happy.

Cons:
+/- This weekend felt very busy, like there was too much going on to be followed up on. I've got it as a +/- since on one hand I feel like we should be having to pick our battles and split our numbers up. It's also the only thing I can think of to mention. It could just be getting used to the flow of the weekend events after the daymod. I dunno. I was pretty reluctant to put this Tongue
- That one log guy wasn't there and left Adam to suffer. What a dick.

Pros:
+ The plot team once again sent us beautiful weather and I thank them for controlling the elements.
+ The bounties sent out for the guild continue to be interesting and enjoyable.
+ Getting Vera from the 'Oarhouse' to sing the Physignathus song. Flavour NPCs are always cool.
+ Daaaawnblaaaaaaadeeeeee. (Those poor undead)
+ I really, really like the set up the last mod had. I didn't go on it but everything I heard back makes me think that was a great idea and I'd be happy to see more of that type of mod in the future.
+ Jeremy / Book was great.
+ The Mage Not-A-Guild people were great. It was nice to see some rare races make an appearance.
+ Cultist putting out a rap smackdown.
+ Demetria, you are the best squire.

I'm really looking forward to the June event. Hopefully I'll see some of you at the Masquerade!

Honestly this was such a great weekend. I had a blast, especially on my first NPC shift, props to Dan/Vaan for being the best cultist bro.

I've never felt so pushed in fights and yet so capable, the fights seemed really well balanced, specifically the grove mod and the moss gathering mod, I could see enemies that were scary for high power characters and enemies that low level characters could engage with as well, well done.

That last mod was brilliant, people got to use their "but I want to save this in case" abilities and new players got to use plenty of their own skills as well, yet it was still a slog and a challenge, pretty sure the demons got within 20-30 feet of our dreamer more than once.

Log you guys are just incredible, I cannot believe how organized and prompt you are, thanks for making the time to be awesome.

Dan Finn, Ivanna, thanks guys! You are really doing a great job with your team!

One small thing I've been thinking about after the fact for us vets:

We've gotta step it up for keeping town center and the mods infernal-free. We all let it slip out time to time but I'm still hearing us talking about points of armour, how things were swinging for 2 normal, etc. I do it too and I shouldn't be. If you catch someone doing it remind them that those words don't exist in game! We have enough demon problems in Ralinwood without black smoke coming out of our mouths.

Since I have not been able to go to an event for almost what feel like a year now due to some personal stuff, I would have to say I loved the event, LOVED it!

Pros:

all the NPCS were excellent, did a great job, I didnt hear a lot of OOG talking with people not knowing calls/having to call a hold to explain things.
the weather was great! very little bugs, even the rain wasnt that bad for the little that we had.
The boots in the washroom was amazing, I put them in the shoes in NPC camp just for fun but I didnt even think of doing anything like that with them XD
SMOKE BOMBS, always love smoke bombs, more plz.
Im REALLY happy that people actually remember who I am, you have no idea how nice it is for people to actually remember your name after being pretty much non-existent for a year.

Cons.

my feet hurt...can someone come rub them?

Was my first full weekend event at Ralinwood and my first with NPC shifts. Overall a good time, minus smacking my noggin and not feeling well.
Log was amazing and smooth, Good shit guys. Dan and Ivanna I am excited for what you two are bringing to the game.

+PRO's+
Lots of stuff to do, wasn't many dull moments.
Being effective in combat.
RP between characters was good.
Ramsay letting me live <3.
Final Mod was so awesome! Having the 'capture the flag' and unlimited skill resets upon death was so much fun Big Grin
Austin decapping that bear... Good work haha
Sunday morning critters (birds, deer, ect) was amusing.
First time doing an NPC shift, had a lot of fun actually Big Grin
Telling Ivanna not to litter... I couldn't resist haha

-CON'S-
Lack of clues during the sleeping mod and understanding of what was happening was a bit frustrating. Would have been helpful allowing people to not get steamrolled right away and get to actually do something in there to scout around.
Missing the smoke bombs Sad
During the planning for the 'alchemy contraption' the lack of coordination was annoying, having 4 different groups trying to do something and no one know what is going on led to needless frustration due to a lack of communication.

all in all, was a pleasant and decent event. Excited to see what the rest of the season brings
