BEST GAME SO FAR!! XD

Pros;
- the Seige Weapons, being 'the best shot' as labeled by many and taking out 5 Orc's with it X3
- using my Elemental Fire Aura Device and ashing 5 orcs and a Scorpion five times bigger then wizwik, all while scaring the shit out of every Orc around me while screaming "PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION, I AM ON FIRE!!!!". Voice went horse after but so worth it
-ALL the new players and characters were awesome. The Faceless was SO AWESOME!! XD the first time ever larpers were a joy to roleplay with and new characters of older players were awesome.

Con;
-cant think of much actually, besides the cold that always sucks XP
Wizwik Leonard Voltsmith, A 3' tall green haired gnome dressed like a tinker'er wearing a top hat, wielding a body spear, and lots of devices strapped to his body, with a small Ruby necklace with a 7 toothed gear carved into it.

Great game, even in the cold I felt there was so much togetherness and to do that we kept warm but also had fun.

Pros:
- A low level mod!!! Please more of these. So many times I go on a mod and I help out and stick out the same as everyone else but those of higher level with more looting just take and reap all the rewards when us lower levels risk our lives and our armour just the same as anyone else.
PLEASE DO MORE OF THOSE!
-It was just fun, there was lots to do and when not fighting, lots of role playing to do. I never felt like I wasn't apart of the game and immersed in the story and environment.

Middle of line:
- Catapults were a great concept and fun to use. But better construction of them would have made it all the better. After War Cry and being exposed to all the giant props etc it made the experience a middle line for me as it could have been more!
- It was difficult at times to consider the area different, especially as most things did not take us out of the camping area. I wish there were more monsters and mods that took us onto the site further as there is so much more to the site then that large grass area.
- We had two healers and they were low levels. I am a Gargylen so I don't mind for myself; however, to see people go down all around me and not be able to bring them to a healer just saddens me. Of course this isn't on you, but perhaps find a way to tone it down when you see someone go down knowing there was a lack of healing. edit: I moved this to the middle because there were merchants sent out with healing potions, although they could again only be purchased by those who loot a lot and if they were kind enough to share. Big props to some players though who did spend a lot of coin and magic items helping the town survive. It is thanks to you this is a middle of the line. You know who you are!

Cons:
- My golden bag (had my in game money, some oog money and my armour tags in it.) was taken or packed up in npc camp and if you took it by accident that's fine mistakes happen just please return it so I have my stuff.
A large horned Gargylen stands proud. Or prancing. Or twirling. Or swirling.... He wears a golden cape and just wants to be remembered.

Pro's
That new player mod was exceptional. A lot of my friends were newer and it was so nice to watch them kick ass and take names.

Listening to Rosco(I think that's his oog name) tell campfire stories. I passed up on a mod because i was really enjoying listening to him talk philosophy. Please make him permanent fire Marshal.

Seeing Matt Flynn show up??!! Way to make an entrance...

The communal fire pit was really nice.

Watching Baruk arm wrestle an ogre, and fucking win!

Con's
NPC players really need to not bat my arrows with your swords. This sends them spiralling and is super unsafe. Please take the hit or dodge.

MVP this event goes to Barley. If not for her we would not have found the easiest gate.
Slowest siege ever!
I was not expecting what happened at 4am good on you guys
Thank you to everyone who was patient and supportive of my new spell list. I was not prepared with rope, make up, glow sticks etc. players and npc camp I thank you for rolling with it. I might even know my incants next time Smile

Game I felt was slow Saturday. It picked up around the time of the Salamander Queen mod for me. The stealth missions were very exciting. Had I had more sleep the night before I would have like to continue those.

I find NPC's like to try different weapons as they should for different roles. The weapons that are often causing the most OOG damage are the 2 handed weapons. If you want to use a two handed weapon take a few minutes to watch Baruk (sp Matt Campbell) He has excellent control, is effective at striking and just aims to tap the target. Just because you have two hands on a weapon doesn't mean your in a batting cage. For body spears take care. They are meant to thrust and can easily rake knuckles when used improperly. I've experienced it and seen it happen this weekend.

Hey, David Halforcen here!
So, seeing as how I was there for a grand total of 6 hours, you can expect this to be the most comprehensive event review in the history of mankind.

Event review!

First, some memorable quotes

David, when learning of 'nice fighting,:
"Oh gods, I need an adult!"

Barley, in a super creeper voice, leaning in: "I'm an adult."

"Let's show these Goblin McBitches how we do this down town" - unknown

Someone: "Wait, if you're a half orc, what's your other half?"
David: "human, pretty obviously"
Someone: "you do know that Orcs can only breed with other goblins, right?"
David:" I dunno, I guess I'm ether special, or my mom's a big slut. Who knows!"

"You know that multiple people can't cut out of a web faster, right?"
"Shhh... *we're cheating*  Wink "

And now for my actual review!

So, this has easily been the best new player experience I have had at any larp, in my 15 years of larping. People were super kind, patient, and welcoming.

To all of the other Orcs in town, you convinced me that I chose the best race possible. What I chose on a whim actually made be feel like I was already part of something bigger and exciting.
To logistics, thanks for handling me showing up at 11, and processing me through, it was awesome.

Plot, I had very limited exposure to much on your end, but what I did have was very entertaining. Friday night was slow, but is was raining, and I can totally understand the need to not exhaust your NPC's, or have them get sick on the first night. Also, I get the feeling that there were a few times that the PC's just didn't take the bait, and that encounters had to be scrapped because low involvement on our end.

So, all and all, I had a fantastic time

One more thing, when I'm new to a larp, I avoid being critical about anything, because well, I'm new, and "who the fuck am I to say anything?" But I did find something interesting that I wanted to comment on.

Your game is dark.
Not like, sinister, or anything, but lacking in illumination. It's not a bad thing at all! But I was surprised when I tried to look up a light spell and not see anything. Only having light from alchemical sources seems pretty cool, and kick starts the economy at lower levels.
It was just totally unexpected, as no one could see anything!

Anyways, I had tons of fun! See you next time!

As always, I had a lovely time.

+ Catapults - Ralinwood, as usual, does an excellent job thinking of new and interesting things for people to do
+ Newbie mod. I love newbies.
+ Noted
+ Blank is a wonderful Faceless
+ Mysticism things!
+ Kevin giving me the bell - as a 5'1" person, I so seldom get to feel intimidating <3

- I felt very underutilised during my NPC shift. I was able to read two of my course readings while I was sitting around. Usually that's my favourite thing about Ralinwood shifting - I am out doing something at all times and entertaining people
- I mentioned that my (and a bunch of other people's) shifts were about to be over, and got snapped at. We ended up staying 40 minutes late - I don't mind staying late, but I do mind being given sass for politely reminding people of things
- Ralinwood combat continues to hurt more than other combat

- (Not a critique of the shapers, etc.) I have a little bit of trouble finding things to do as a specialist. Gotta figure that one out. I'd love any tips anyone has on finding stuff to do with a very specialised skill set besides "make a new character"

Ludvic is thinking Matt Campbell. The mistake happens often because we're always together. Matty Cameron is the hansomer one with the bow.

if being a half anything is what you are going to put in your back story, prepare to be very disappointed...
