"When the Cat's Away" August Event Reviews
#16
Pros:

+ Waking up in the middle of the night to the high pitched screaming of "Booooootyyyyy!" As kobolds went screaming around our camp. Got my boots on and got out of the tent just in time to see a half naked Einher go tearing after the last one into the bushes. Decided at that point it was a better idea to go back to sleep.
+ Somehow managing to do well in two of the contests! Big Grin Epic stuff came with that.
+ Managing not to let the demon land a single hit on me. This involved lots of running like hell, and Uther getting in the demon's face, but yay!
+ My personal plot nonsense resulting in the final battle on sunday being largely my fault. XD Oops. That's the last time I listen to anyone when they tell me not to kill something I've just downed and made very angry because they want to WAKE IT BACK UP AND TALK TO IT BEFORE WE LEAVE.
+ Bees flirting with people. Big Grin
+ The major mod on Friday night where we went down into the tunnels. That was so well put together, and so freaky! More like this please!

Cons

- Torrential rain. Sad Since I have to wear a lot of face paint, that rain resulted in a lot of me hiding and praying to whatever gods were listening that I wouldn't get grabbed by Fae lord because I did not want to have to go out in the rain and lose all my makeup.
- Too many plotlines happened Saturday evening at the same time. Constantly trying to go out on a mod and it literally took 2-3 hours of other shit getting in the way before we finally managed to go do a quick ten minute mod. There was lots of free time earlier on Saturday when some of this stuff could have happened.
- Maybe this one was just me, but lack of merchants! I actually spent way more time out of camp and in and around town centre and the area this time, and I did not manage to catch a merchant ONCE. Maybe they weren't obvious? Maybe I just had bad luck and timing? Not really sure.
- Outdoor tavern area needs a bit of lighting. Maybe a few battery op lanterns, maybe some torches, or maybe we could hoist a few lights up on the beams (heck, I'll help with it) that we could plug in, but we need some light. I believe there are lights actually there that could be turned on? They should be in the evening. If it's a tavern, it would be lit inside, and it would encourage people to go there and hang out a bit more in the evenings instead of just lurking in camp and getting bored and going to bed when there's too much of a lull between critters attacking. More lighthearted PC interaction, more potential drunken brawls, more people smushed in one place to get attacked, what could possibly be wrong with this plan?
