Stefan is being told that armour is customary thing to wear when out in place of dangerous fishpeople leaving shallows. Stefan is not wanting to die, so he needs armour. Armour that not for being to clash with nice outfit, yes? So, if anyone has a spare chain shirt they are not needing to wear, Stefan will grant you small boon of Ancestors for your contributions to his not-dead'ness.
