Fantastic event! If this is the pitch you can manage all season, we're in for a whooper!
Pro
+ Great NPCs who did a good job adapting to player actions, and who knew how to use body language to sell their rolls
+ The "scavenger hunt" aspect was a fantastic idea. I hope there'll be similar things in the future!
+ Plenty of action, but I never felt rushed or harried.
+ The tavern was a good price for good food, and there was good RP from the man running it.
+ I really liked the idea of pulling the mages in and then having them form part of the final boss fights, it made the fights more interesting because you knew that was your friend underneath, and by that point most mages were running on empty and that got them back into the game.
+ I got to sing!
+ Being all lowbies was a really nice feeling.
Con
- No creeping cautiously through forests at night! That hypervigilent paranoia at every little sound is a big part of UW to me. I can't wait for a weekender....
- My chainmail was ridiculously heavy on my shoulders. Not sure what I'd do in a weekender...
- I have to second the "too much body" comment. Body damage is a great equalizer when some people are running >200 armor, but here it wasn't as necessary and got a bit excessive at times.
- On that note, being put out of fight after fight wasn't fun. Hamstring, Hamstring, Pin+Web, Hamstring, Paralyze, Hamstring, Pin, Hamstring... Most of that was just bad luck on my part, though. I also heard different calls on what's necessary to fix the hamstring.
Suggestions
+ An NPC healer and/or protections caster (possibly the tavernkeep?) could serve as a goldsink while providing a bit more flex on that body damage.
+ An IG town notice board at site might be awesome!
+ "Headbutt", "Bum Rush", "Knockdown", "With +X Strength ____", "Lockjaw", and "Suffocate" are all great abilities to see more of on monsters.
