Overall, I had a really good time. Friday morning I was considering not coming, but I am glad I did.
Although I ended up going to bed pretty early, Friday night was good. Nature caster birthday monster fight was pretty funny. When it hit me with Hunter's Snare and I did a bind in return, we both sort of had a "What now?" moment. I am sort of concerned that a shift NPC got to basically see my card as it were.
I really enjoyed my NPC shift in the tavern Saturday morning!
The bridge mod was great both in concept and statting. Most of the issues of time spent there related to IG where people left and never came back and didn't send others. And it was great that Sierra came down at one point with water. However, we did know in advance how long we were going to need to hold the bridge, so I feel like on both IG and OOG levels, people should have brought water for themselves.
I had a lot of fun with Deago, Levi and Ludivc Saturday night before the Mist Marauders. And I love that IG that is the last thing I remember before the res circle.
I am really confused IG/OOG about what happened on Saturday night with the Mist Marauders and how it connected to the orcs etc.
Please remember that you must do a standard 3 count when ripping out of effects; this is not only how things generally work in game (counts for declared actions), it is also literally written into the spell description for everything that you can rip out of. Lack of counts on rip outs and everything I hit with a spell ripping out had a big effect on my enjoyment of the last mod. I understand there needs to be balance in the fights to keep them fun and Nature magic can really mess with that balance, but at the same time, it's frustrating as a player if you're basically having no effect. Even if proper counts were done, it would have at least given the fighters a few free hits before the rip out, but we weren't even getting that.
This came out a little more negative than I'd really like. Please keep in mind that I started by saying that I am glad I attended the event. Possibly some of my issues are because I am simply too far down on the power curve so everything is overwhelming? But it just seemed like most of the weekend I couldn't contribute much to anything we were doing.
