"So you will tell me a tale of how Valdr is fighting back Sverin if I listen?"

-He sighs again and takes a deep breath- Is that all you care to hear? Then perhaps it would be best you come back another time when we can discuss that privatly. Today's Sermon is not about punishment.

"I was told tales of the dead gods by my maternal grandfather. I hear no tales of Valdr's glory. He is supposed to be a replacement. Odin lost an eye for wisdom and this Valdr is supposed to have gained one. Let him be judged like the Gods of Old, Lamalas. What has Valdr done in the year he has been around? What has he done to earn the devotion of those like Dehclan? Not Einher who served out of duty for him. What has Valdr done? How did he best this new Loki?"

Each of your questions will be answered in my sermons to come. There is much to tell about Valdr and only so little time to do so. The longer you continue to badger about your desired answers the longer it will take for me to get to them. I will not have my weekly sermon topics dictated by someone else. So again, either sit and listen or feel free to talk to me in private about each of your questions.

Sevatar looks at Lamalas for a moment. He tilts his head slowly. "So you want people to come and listen to you talk because you have wisdom from Valdr but you only dole it out on the worthy and you are the arbiter of that? This is very different from an Enlightenment. Do you not have a discussion? Does not everyone contribute? Is this how the Light works?"

I speak what I feel needs to be spoken about depending on the week, open discussions happen all the time and I spend more time in debates then almost anything else I do. There is a different between having an open discussion, which has its time and place, and having a sermon, which is what this is. A sermon is me talking about the Tenets of my God, not answering every little crazy thing that comes into the minds of passersby.

"How many people did you plan on giving a sermon to?"

As many that show up. I'm planning on starting as soon as  this conversation is finished, which I am hoping is now. -He said with a finality to his statement. He then walked before the group, not giving Sevatar a chance to responds- Welcome everyone, it has been to long since I had a chance to hold a sermon, what with demons and brood and other creatures attacking constantly. Which leads me to today's subject matter. Valdrs Tenets state things a follower of his should not do, and one of those is something I have seen often as of late.

A follower of Valdr should never act foolishly or embrace ignorance. Now what does this mean? It means simply to be wise in all actions, to not eat random food found on the ground as I have heard tale of people doing recently. It means do not run head first into battle without knowing what you are to face. I, myself, have failed this tenet even recently I will admit. I found myself encouraged to eat a piece of an Ooze that attacked town. I should have known better and yet I ate it anyway. Was this wise? No. Why am I telling you this? To prove that not everyone is immune to fits or irrational or down right idiotic behaviour. The wonderful part of Valdr however is he gives his followers a way to fix their mistakes. Another of His Tenets reads

Strive to learn from your mistakes and do not let emotions cause you to repeat them.

-He pauses to take a drink and let those words sink in-

Sevatar looks Lamalas up and down the entire time. He grins ear to ear while listening to him speak.

He speaks about half a second after Lamalas finishes speaking. With his usual emotionless monotone:

"Valdr threw people off a bridge and you're lecturing people on not eating things off the floor. Sybil says I must hunt the things on the floor so we don't waste food, I guess?"

He looks around to see if Demetria is still paying any attention.

"Demi, would Sybil want us to throw out, say, good food because it was thrown on the ground? Should we not be wise enough to clean or cook it properly?"

-He puts his cup down a little harder then he normally would before turning to Sevatar, before Demi has a chance to answer- Enough. This is not a debate between two Gods, this is a sermon. Either keep your thoughts to yourself, or leave. Period. I will not have you constantly interrupting when there are people here genuinely interested in hearing the word of Valdr. So what shall it be? Silence or leave?
