The method of managing armour tags and armour reps has been a concern for as long as I have played underworld. Although the current system is functional, it runs into some confusion when it comes to discerning which tags are being used for which particular reps and in what quantities. To try and make armour tags less confusing and ambiguous we will be testing out a new system this season.
New Armour Tags
Beginning this season we will be preparing tags for individual pieces or armour, instead of simply writing tags by armour type. This means that you as a player will collect specific armour tags that might include multiple classes of armour.
Here are some examples of armour tags under the new system:

Tagging Armour
As before you will not be required to tag individual pieces or armour, although we do encourage players to do so. You will be required to carry the IG armour tags that correspond to Reps you are wearing at all times. If a player is separated from one of their reps, a shaper may approach a player and collect the corresponding tag.
Assembling Armour
Although players will predominately carry specific armour tags, generic tags for an amount of 'raw' armour will be in circulation be they from loot, or blacksmith stock piles. These raw tags are essentially useless to players until they are assembled by a blacksmith.
Any character with at least one rank of blacksmithing can take the required 'raw' armour tags to NPC camp and assemble the 'raw' armour tag into a specific armour tag.
Breaches
Breaches will remain the same as before. Players may choose which armour tag suffers a breach, and can even split the breach across multiple tags.

I also have spent many happy years in Suvant.
