A Concerned Hexenmeister's Warning
#1
*A piece of parchment is tacked to the notice board*

Citizenry of Ralinwood,

As a scholar and knowledge gatherer, I feel it only right to spread such wondrous gifts to others. While what I am about to print here is by no means conclusive, a warning must be given due to the circumstances.

After hearing several accounts from some citizens, it is my belief that the large towering creature that you were beset by days ago, was a Trent. A being not unlike a sentient tree, the accounts of size, width, strength and aversion to lit flames lend me to believe this is the culprit. If so, the Trent is very capable of crushing most things in its path, and its bark deflected steel and silver blows. It is this Hexenmeister's fear, that the creature has be possessed by some heavily Demonic force... perhaps due to Wytchcraft being used in the surrounding forests.

I will repeat: none of this is yet conclusive. The data in the accounts is still too sparse. I would simply advise caution, should more thunderous rumbling occur near this settlement. I would be happy to discuss my findings in person. I am usually about the tavern and town centre.

Dankeschön,

- Hexenmeister Ludwig von Zauberer, of the Schwarz Vollmond

It seems you've found a solution to the wood shortage. Ensure you lure it down near the palisade when you kill it.

Hexenmeister, i would recommend you speak with osprey in the pavilions, he is an avian scholar who has knowledge of this area, the two of you in collaboration should prove formidable and beneficial.

Citizens of ralinwood after having seen this creature myself it adds credence to the warnings i have received from several sources. So i must warn you not to travel alone near the woods, even in broad day light. Do not pick up objects that do jot belong to you no matter how harmless they appear. This corrupted treant fits the description of one of three demons that prey on this area around the time of the hallows. One can take the appearance of inanimate objects and another stalks the unwary and kills them brutally. I must also stress that if you hear screaming in the woods at night do not go in without at least a dozen companions and torches.
