Hailing the town. (TS October 6: 5 bells)

[Rolin Smith]

*Rolin Smith makes his way to town proper, he makes a point to acknowledge those who have come by offering a warm smile and nod. He walks over towards the meeting area moves up to the platform, pausing for a few moments to allow any last minute arrivals.*

[Sigurd Vask]

Grimnir ambles over from where he had been sitting, raising an eyebrow. "What is this for?"

[Rachel NPC]

*Accalia can be seen nearby, idly leaning against a tree with her arms crossed*

"Rolin wants to hold a meeting to determine whether or not Ralinwood should have a unifying Council that extends to all camps and individuals. Or something like that."

[Rolin Smith]

*Rolin steps forward to address those assembled, clearing his throat he begins.*
"Ladies and Gentlemen of Ralinwood, I thank you for coming today. I have enjoyed my time here, have enjoyed working with and getting to know each of you. We are a town filled with a great group of brave souls who have come here to build something new, and better, and I think we are off to a great start. Some of our recent accomplishments have been the establishment of the mage's guild, a hospital, and the initial stages of our defense strategy for our farms."
*Rolin looks to each person as he speaks, continuing.*
"There are many opportunities for us in the future, I have asked Callum to form a vanguard to aid in the defense of the farmers, should the defenses breach. He has graciously accepted such a task and mentioned the idea of keeping this group as a general defense for the town, and I applaud his efforts. I know that there are several other projects underway to improve the daily life of the town, and as such we should be much more comfortable and self sufficient."
*Rolin pauses a moment to consider his words.*
"My reasoning for convening this meeting is to open up a discussion about the town structure itself. I would like to propose the formation of a town council, or quorum. The verbage is not as important as the idea, that is, to establish a group that is beholden to the town itself, and will help to coordinate and facilitate these kinds of projects, and provide some guidance and leadership to keep up the mundane tasks of daily life. I am here to simply ignite the spark in your minds, and see what we can come up with together."

*Rolin steps back from the podium.*
"At this time I invite each of you to come forward and express your thoughts and let us know the vision you have for the town."

[Maddox]

*Shadolas stands idly beside Accalia, keeping a watchful eye on the gathering*

[Sigurd Vask]

"Lad, that's a terrible idea. This town is run by three lords, you really think they want us stepping on their toes and presuming to tell them what to do? That's foolish and likely to get your head removed from your shoulders for treason." Grimnir shaking his head and sighing.

[Maximus]

*Maximus takes a seat at the tavern*
"Why should the Lords and Lady send there much needed guards to defend a town that should defend itself? I like the idea of this town not standing as one but I do not see myself standing with it."

[Estelle]

Estelle stands besides Maximus, she has her hands clasped behind her back.

[Rolin Smith]

*Rolin steps once more towards the podium and acknowledges the speaker.*
"My words may have been misunderstood. I am not looking to infringe upon the sovereign domain of our nobility. I am in fact speaking to quite the opposite . This quorum would stand in testament to what they have built here, a sign that something here has truly blossomed under their leadership. I am only to organize the camps to further along projects that need to be completed for the town as a whole, as I stated before, sharing the mundane work will only help to improve efficiency. We will be stronger if we can all work together. "

[Ludvic]

"Rolin, I would suggest you head over to the pavilion and ask for Philip to join us. He is a squire and would better know what would be acceptable to the Lady and the Lords. I understand what you are trying to do but it could be seen as an attempt to overthrow them. In addition instead of creating a militant force you should also ask for permission. Lastly, I am hearing a lot of concern for the farmers. What of the natives?"
