It has come to my attention that there was a lot of mis-canting going on at the day mod in May. I'm assuming that this was due to a combination of misunderstandings by new players and miscommunication.
You MUST say the entire incant when you cast a spell.
I understand that a lot of magic users started using short forms (ex:Magic ice missile!) rather than the whole thing (ex: I invoke the elements to inflict ice missile!) If you heard an elemental monster do this, that was because they're physically made of that element so they do these skills innately. They don't need to incant. Magic casters, however must always incant - PC and NPC alike.
A miscanted spell has no effect and is spent for the day.
If you're new (or not) and unsure about how spells work just shoot me an email or post on here and we'll sort it out.
