Event Review: Uncharted Places
#21
This is one of those games where it really shows how much of a difference a large number of NPCs can make for the game. BIG SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE WHO NPC'D and npc camp in general. Combat and roleplaying are a million times more immersive and fun when the npcs are are not outnumbered 2 to 1 or more, allowing for more realistic feeling fights and in terms of roleplaying, allowing for Npcs to be spread out on a variety of roles entertaining different groups of pcs all at the same time. Very well done!

I second what Cat said about the hand sanitizer, tho i know there has been some supplied to those porta potties in the past, so i dont know the whole story, is it something that is provided by peacekeeper? or something that we as underworld have to supply to ourselves, if the latter is true then i wouldnt mind donating hand sanitizer to the main portas we use.

Also the armor reps thing is a tough situation, ive considered taping my tags to my armor reps before, to avoid the possibility of having them "taken off" me unrealistically quick with a count. It can make the armor less visually pleasing, depending on how you tape it on, and id always be scared of the tape and tag coming off, where as if i keep it somewhere else on my person while i wear the reps, i know i wont lose it easily, what are you guys opinions on this? id like to know, thanks.
---SPEAKING OF ARMOR THO, HOLY COW NPC CAMP YOU BLOW ME AWAY WITH HOW COOL ALL YOUR REPS ARE!----

Solution that I've found when it comes to armor.

- Obtain a small pouch, put a strip of white tape on it and label it (OOG ARMOR) and fill it with ONLY armor tags that you wear at all times. As you put on / off armor, add / remove tags respectively

Guys as for the looting and armour tags situation: comments@larp.ca

I 100% agree with the sentiment but as the rule stands the tag is the item not the rep. and the looting skill allows the looter to take all tags on the person. also a pc may request that npc camp make the thief carry their reps, according to the rule as it is written now the looter does not have to wait for you to take off your armour, only to take your tags, they must let npc camp know they have stolen your belongings and once you come to report your things stolen you may request they make the thief carry the reps. If you (like myself) do not like this please please please make official submissions for rule revisions and clarifications, its the only way these issues get resolved.

Re: tags and items.

Its an imperfect system but that's the nature of having to put a rule for every action someone can take. You have to write rules assuming people will be their worst and try to game or take advantage of the system as much as possible (rules roland), not their best to conform to the spirit of the game and what is really feasible (rules kael). Whenever you loot an NPC to strip them down of plate mail or a chain shirt in the middle of a field, you benefit from the idea that the tag = the item instead of the rep = the item. And Ralinwood has the capacity to rep all that armour, and make you spend 5 minutes squiring an uncooperative corpse to get it if they wanted to. It really only bothers people when it disadvantages them.

Also re: comment above about OOG bag, you cannot put tags in OOG bags unless an effect (sigil of pocket, etc) allows you to do so. If you leave your armour in your tent, you leave your tags in your tent where they can be stolen, etc.

Anyways, thanks NPC camp for having me. You guys did a great job and worked pretty hard through some stressful weather, which tends not to bring out the best in PCs with respect to patience, understanding, and compassion. I'm sorry my footwear gave out after 3 mods but hopefully I still managed to help / contribute wherever or whenever I could.

I had a really fun game! It was super cool to be able to help out with something plot-related, and those instamods in the woods really kept me going: more like that, please! The stuff I saw was well-costumed, and engaging, or had fun puzzles to solve/think about.
Thanks for a great day, guys!
