Out of Shape, Out of Mind ((TS Noon, Mar 9th / 2257))

[Andrei Katrares]

*Levi can be seen in full armour 'running' along the path between Emerald Company and Storm Vale, stopping at the end to complete various calisthenics exercises with great difficulty before 'running' back the other way. He is winded and his face is a bright red as he slowly struggles through this routine.*

[Sigurd Vask]

Grimnir walks up to Levi, fully armoured with sword and shield strapped to his hip and back. "Care for a partner?"

[Andrei Katrares]

*Levi pauses for a moment, doubles over holding his knees, and takes a good 20 seconds before he can speak.*

"Sure. Evaluations soon. Need to get ready."

*He makes a circle motion with his hand before adjusting his glasses and continuing his jog. He moves at a fairly slow pace relative to a fit individual.*

[Sigurd Vask]

Grimnir smiles and matches pace with Levi, "I've needed to run more. I am sure you will do well, Levi." The Jarl running beside the man, "I apologize for Kare. He has offered you and yours disrespect."

[Andrei Katrares]

*Levi rolls his eyes and struggles to speak as he runs.*

"Vali. Kare. They're children. Crave attention. Responsibility. Entitled."

*When Levi reaches the end of the path in one direction he drops to the snow and begins slowly doing pushups, speaking only when he reaches the bottom of the pushup.*

"I had ideals too. Wanted to save the world. Couldn't save my own ass. Time and life will harden them. Not their fault. No offence taken."

[Kare Rosner]

-Kare walks over to where Levi is running back and forth- "Hail Grimnir, ye weren't there at the fire last night. I had a disagreement with how Iris runs the so called Hospital. She challenged me to do better and I accepted...If she takes back what she said...then fine -shrugs-......" -Kare's tone is calm-

[Sigurd Vask]

"You rise in temper too easily, Kare." Grimnir drops and does push ups alongside Levi. "I am more concerned with this town being united against the threats we face. I care not how or why this happens."

[Andrei Katrares]

*Levi stops what he's doing and takes a minute to catch his breath on his knees.*

"And did you think to ask if the rest of the town's healers and physicians want to work for you? Already they speak out against you on your notice. Or if the others in the settlement feel confident or comfortable with you running the Hospital? Have you made any inquiries with the nobility on whether any funding will come to you if you replace Iris? Have you made any preparations at all?

This is about ego, you want to be able to tell people you are the head of something. That you are the center of attention, and we should all look to you to save us. You're not interested in leading, you want to command. You're not looking to have a team, you're looking to stand out as a hero. To be special.

If you want to be a hero, you can do it without lording it over the rest of us. You want recognition for being a doctor? You're a good doctor. You can heal the sick and injured. Should we erect a monument in your honour? Does Callum come to me demanding recognition for every foe he slays to defend the settlement? Do I hold tallies of my kills as a badge of merit to force you to acknowledge my work?"

[Kare Rosner]

-Kare sits down- "That may be true, but my anger has reason. As for the whole united part, that was what I wanted to do more then ever if the healers and physicians looked up to me rather then Iris. She think's it like a business, if we were truly united, the hospital wouldn't need to ask for donations or need to pay their employee's. If the town and the people in this area came first, profit would be the last thing on their mind. If the hospital was truly needed, then the town would work together with the hospital and help them when the hospital ask for something they needed....like how Muintir is run, working together, treating everyone as equal, and pulling resources for the whole, not the individual."

[Sigurd Vask]

"Nothing in life is free, Kare. You need funding to make things a reality." Grimnir jumping to his feet and taking a breath before shadow boxing for a few moments. "To be honest with you, Kare. Levi is not wrong. You are looking for people to come to you for orders. I am Jarl of those sworn to me, but do you see me use my title to take control? Do I issue commands in public? No, it is honourary."

The Einish man stopping to take some breaths. "The hospital needs donations to afford the services offered. You must not assume people are selfless, many expect handouts."
