Dexter enters the tavern and goes to the front, and waits patiently, while everyone gets settled. He pulls out his notebook and quickly reads over done notes and puts it away.
"Hello everyone, as many of you know, I am Dexter Hightower. This past weekend we attempted to help the firbolg defend their home and we inevitably failed, at no fault of our own. We were not prepared for what we faced down there, and we paid the price. We, uh, we lost a lot of good people, as did the firbolg. Today, I would like to talk about them. Beyond the many firbolg who lost their lives, and elders who gave their lives to buy us time. But I would like to talk about the town's folk who lost their lives this weekend.
Azule, he only just arrived in town, and gave his lives to help defend us. A Baaagh follower as he was, went out the way I imagine he would have wanted too, in the middle of a bloody battle.
Xander Drakkon, also a recent arrival in town, and possibly the worst pirate I've ever heard of, also gave his final life. I do not know much about him, but he always tried to do the right thing.
Nennia, she was a good friend, and the best Baker I ever knew. She was kind, gentle, and forgiving. She taught me a lot about her Dragon, Essylt, and her ways. She always put the most effort into doing everything she does, like with her baking, where she raises her own chickens for the eggs, and goats for their milk. She will be missed greatly by myself, and her friends.
Rajani... Rajani my sweet sister. I have known you since you were born, I was raised with you and your siblings after I ran away from home. Her parents taught me most of what I know, and brought me the opportunity to travel the known world, and come here to you. I tried to keep her from going into the catacombs, but she was insistent on helping the firbolg, just like she was insistent on helping this town when we first arrived. She provided materials to all the craftsman in town for more than reasonable price, and would go out of her way to help them improve their craft. She was also the matriarch of a modest pride, of which Cosmina is now in charge, which has also lost its most elder member, Moon, a few months ago. She will be greatly missed, and a hole will be left in this town by her absence. May her spirit find rest."
Dexter, holding back tears, goes and takes a seat towards the back.
