The Truce Hurts - Event Review
#6
Had a good event NPCing. Lots of tension and it was enjoyable seeing both NPC's and PC's involve themselves in the plot of the night. In the end, I think the arguments provided by both factions led to some relatively natural feeling conflict and problematic decision making by the PC's.

On the combat side of things I want to generally point out that it is really important to understand the differences in swing calls made by NPC's. Plot has to write mods that are both challenging and rewarding - this is done by understanding what to stat against the weight of the PC group. Some Monsters swing with unique calls providing them with more dangerous attacks. For example "Magic Body Drain" goes straight to body and heals the Monster at the same time; a much more dangerous effect than a "Magic" swing which goes to armor. I witnessed many of these types of swings likely not taken properly. It's not about trying to kill a PC - Its about creating an experience that thrills, excites and causes those real "fight or flight" moments. If the calls are not being taken properly, NPC camp cant give you the true Underworld experience you pay for because the designed mod is effectively broken. Just something to keep in mind. Refreshing yourself on all the calls and what they do and mean helps everyone play the game like its meant to be.

See ya next one.

Cheers!
