Tales of the Travellers Event Review
#8
This was such a lovely event to introduce us all in the new year. It was entertaining, the food was good, and I'm intrigued to see where this season will take all of us.

Pros:
- Food. The fact that I was fed first, before anything else, makes me happy.
- Everyone's reaction to Scrump. I put a lot of care into making a super creepy doll, and it's just really fun that everyone played along with me, so thank you!
- Seeing Roland as a Draconian for the first time - his makeup was on point (kudos to Rebecca!) - in fact, everyone's costumes and makeup were really great this event! I feel that's probably due to the lack of combat and fear of impending doom, so there wasn't as much clunky armour obscuring the hard work people have put into their character concepts and costumes. A++ Everyone. Including NPCs!
- The fortune-telling was really spectacular. It added an extra personal touch to the game, which I've felt in the past has been lacking. The fact that anyone could do this, and that everyone who did walked away with something personal and unique to them, is so cool. Loved this. I saw some really great RP result from this, so yeah. Looooved this.
- The alchemical drinks were hilarious. We should have more of that.
- As a new fighter, I really loved the opportunity to participate in the combat competition! I may not have won, at all, but it was so much fun!
- Personal thanks to Lilith for setting me down while I was paralyzed, and to Little Rock for fixing my arm position so that I didn't ache today!
- I AM NOT A DEER
- Oh. And being arrested and then unarrested. I might've had a slight heart attack.

Cons:
- Yeah. Not a lot of music. No dancing. I mean, Scrump's great to sway with and all, but I was hoping for something a little livelier.
- The fact that the mage's competition was so much later in the evening. I understand that space was limited, but I also feel like combat players generally get to have their go first. I also understand this is a combat-oriented game, but speaking as a past spell-caster, it's not always great to be an afterthought. Maybe announcing the order of events at the beginning of the night could've helped prevent this lack of knowledge or interest in the competition? I get that it's important to "hook" players with a specific NPC, but still, there should've been an announcement.
