The spit falls short into the snow, but the fog reacts and slowly moves, maneuvering itself over the wad before sinking down into the snow. The snow and the spit are drawn into the slow-moving vortex of fog and is assimilated into the whole. It otherwise doesn't react to Vali's presence at all.
