Death Scenes
#1
There's been a bit of a trend starting - as I am told - of "death scenes" that people are running in which they say their final goodbyes as their character.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but death scenes are not allowed. Once a character is retired or finalled, the player can no longer do anything as that character. It takes away from the sense of loss that other players/characters should feel at the death of a friend without a chance to say goodbye, and it can also be unfair if you start willing your possessions to friends post-mortem.

You may write an IG will, if you wish. It must be written, signed and given to another character IG while your character is living, and you must have is signed and dated by a shaper. This is so that if someone pulls it out after your character's death we can tell that it wasn't made up afterward.

Also, I cannot express how cool it is to stand with a white headband in the background and watch your own funeral. It's one of the few LARP experiences that really is more enjoyable if you're not involved.

Nothing is more true than this! I have even seen players rep their own corpses. It is truly a unique thing to witness.

Only heard of one being done in chat prior to this announcement but I am glad that this has been addressed. If a player were to final due to PvP it would suck for their spirit, not being run by a Plot member, to tell their allies who did the deed. There is no way to control metagaming on an OOG basis but I am glad to see that there are steps being taken to control it on an IG basis. As someone who has had to deal with someone blabbing to anyone who will listen that I killed them off at a different game this is good to see.

Ill take the blame for this, I try'd to explain to new players how to do IG funerals and I am guessing I don't explain thing good enough. I am sorry.

There is no one to blame. It is just a thing that has occurred, and a few people have ran with it. The important thing is that we have addressed the problem, and hopefully we won't see it happen again.

A new LARP with brand new LARPers can create a bunch of interesting scenarios. We are all learning.

What if someone wants to write a fake will after a person finals?

Like, I dunno... Levi finals, Baseema wants all his stuff and writes a fake will.

Heather, I see nothing wrong with this. IG shenanigans is totally cool in my book. And as such...Maybe we should change "Shaper" to "Noble" just to keep things IG, and allow for interesting RP.

Fair enough. A noble, rather than a shaper, must sign the will. If someone wants to forge a will that's fine, and likewise, if someone has a will IG but another character chooses to refute its legitimacy that's fine too.
