*Dark clouds roll in through the evening, and the wind picks up. As the sun sets the first drops begin to fall. By midnight the rain is so torrential that it's difficult to hear another person speak. Several settlers are forced to lodge in the tavern overnight after their tents collapse. Eventually the storm dies down.
The sun rises on a beach strewn with debris. Driftwood, dead fish, broken barrels and other refuse dot the sand. The Cheerful Prophet and Spiteful Jessamine float side-by-side on the still waters of the bay.*

What with the storm, the darkling woman had spent more time gleefully watching the lightning than she had sleeping. Now, Silv was wandering the shoreline, idly patrolling to keep an eye on things. Every so often she would cast a glance out at the boats to check for activity, and occasionally she would nudge small snarls and piles of debris with her boot, wondering if there might be anything shiny washed ashore with the waves. Otherwise, she was content to enjoy the quiet of dawn.

She cast him a smile, and just laughed. "Not much beyond seashells and driftwood so far." She picked up a smooth, flat stone, and flicked it out to skip across the calm water. It got seven or eight jumps before it vanished. "Enjoyable weather last night, wasn't it?" She grinned cheerfully.
*Myra wanders over, peering worriedly out to the ships*
"Do you think they're okay? They said yesterday some might need medical attention on board, and I'm sure it's worse after that..."

The black-skinned Fae gave a shrug. "I haven't seen much movement yet, but it is early still. I'm sure someone will come ashore soon if there's trouble."

"A storm to be remembered." He eyed Myra and smiled. "If there is an emergency they know where to seek aide."

Silv wandered a bit further down, and paused. There was an unbroken barrel sunken a few inches into the sand, a bit of kelp flopped over it. She knocked on it with the tip of her bow, and something inside thunked as the contents shifted. Setting it upright, she pried the lid off, and was surprised to findit chock full of fresh-looking apples. "Where in the hell did you come from?" She murmured quietly to herself. She plucked a few apples out, and then pushed the lid back in to begin rolling the barrel back toward the dock.
As she lifted the barrel out of its recess, a piece of shattered wood with words on it became visible from beneath where the barrel had sat. The letters spelled "Lady Mari", and it looked like the rest of the piece had been smashed off, obliterating the remainder of the word. She frowned again, and pulled the board up. "Hey...Briar! Come here a moment! I think we've a problem!". She hefted the plank, waving it at him in case he hadn't heard her shout.

Briar leapt to his feet and ran over, reading the piece of wood and cursing softly. "We found no signs of bodies? Nothing to suggest deaths as of yet?" He began to scan the shoreline intently and cursing softly. "This is bad. Really bad."
Taking a slow and steadying breath, Briar looked to Silv and Myra. "Silv we start searching now. Myra, please go and get help."

Silv nodded, laying the plank down on the barrel. "Myra, if you could send a couple of runners to the other camps, ours too, it would be wonderful of you." Turning her attention back to the shore, she began to scan. "We need to get further down the shore, find if she hit the rocks. And we need to signal the ships."
She began to drag driftwood into a heap, piling it to begin building a signal fire.
