'Sense' Calls and You

These Out of Game (OOG) calls are often made by NPC characters in order to find a specific demographic of the population. All characters and NPCs must respond to calls that pertain to them. Some of the calls you may hear include: Sense Life, Sense Undead, Sense Magic, Sense <Insert Race>, Sense <Insert Name>.

Please know that these calls are made and heard on an Out of Game level. Your character or NPC does not hear them, nor do you know that you are being 'Sensed'.

Using a 'Sense' Call:
As an NPC using a 'Sense' skill, you will typically be using a normal speaking voice. Some NPC monsters to have the ability to sense things at a great distance, and therefore can speak louder, or even yell these calls.

As a PC you will always use a normal speaking voice when using 'Sense' calls. There are certain instances where you will be able to speak louder, be it a magic item, a parallel universe, etc...Please note that these are very rare occurrences.

Hearing a 'Sense' Call:
If your character hears a 'Sense' call that pertains to you, you must answer, "Here" in a normal speaking voice. There are curses and such that can force you to speak louder when answering these calls, but these instances are very rare.

If Your Character Does Not Fit The Criteria:
If you hear a ‘Sense’ call that does not pertain to you, you will not respond, and remain silent. Additionally there are certain spells and effects that make you hidden from these sense calls, in these cases, you will remain silent.
