The Note-Taker (TS: 04/23/2015 - Mid afternoon)
#11
"A half-dozen einher against an entire army of orcs, forgive my lack of faith, Jarl but you can see why I have my concerns." Kyrem folds up his parchment, "I think a more detailed plan should be formed. Barricades, assigned roles, sentries, rally points, contingencies, things like this should all be considered."

"Never said it was a solid plan...maybe talk to Lady Bantry about such matters, might be what your looking for"

Kyrem searches through a series of papers before pulling out a simple diagram, showing a line representing a pathway and trees on either side, "This is one of my ideas. An army wouldn't be able to bush-whack through the thick foliage. It would be inefficient for them to do so. There are many paths in Ralinwood I've observed that have thick brush on either side. What we do is position sentries on the outskirts of town and when we get warning of incoming orcs, we either bait them down the paths or simply let them walk down the paths themselves since it would take the least resistance from them. Then we have groups of archers positioned on either side of the path at spaced increments to prevent friendly-fire. Then we simply have them peg the orcs with arrows from the brush. If the orcs attempt to get at the archers, all they must do is flee deeper into the woods where they'll be hard to find."

"Not a bad plan." *looks to the paper with a smile* "I think I know most of these places."

"There are other things that you would need to take into calculation, not just the numbers but also the enemy themselves. From what I've heard these are Baagh orcs, and they will gladly bleed and die for their...Blood God...so their savagry might just over run any defenses we have, to combat their numbers, we need numbers similar to theirs to have truly effective battle plans."

Grimnir smiles wickedly and shrugs to Vali, "Thousand for you, thousand for me, and the rest can be mopped up by everyone else, right?"
