I swung by the local home depot the other day and noticed that the winter storage event is happening right now. They sell a lot of storage totes this time of year, and as part of this they often end up with left over lids. If you are looking at making a shield in the near future it may be worth your time to swing by your local depot and ask them if they have any extra lids you can have. They may have some to sell, or if you are lucky they might just give you one.

Note: This is often possible with garbage can lids as they nearly always have excess lids.

As winter ends I'm almost certain that those circular plastic sleds will go on sale at places like Toys-R-Us. They seem to be the perfect size for an Einhar shield if anyone is interested in coating them with EVA and giving them a shot.
