Ursel watches Sevatar walk away before heading over to the pile of charred wood, sifting through it for anything that looks mostly intact. She glances up when Viv speaks, frowning a moment. "Not any I've seen... sounds unpleasant, staying in a metal building."

Viv looks at Ursel.
"It's all over the Undermines. Not like we grow - " she gestures wildly at what should be a forested treeline, before turning her head to realize it's actually a charred and broken mess of trees - "this... stuff... at home."

"I can't imagine living somewhere without forests..." She glances out the window where Viv motioned earlier, her expression pained. "This one will heal in time, I'm sure, though this Undermine of yours sounds rather desolate."

Viv beams, her eyes taking that distant faraway look.
"Everything's built out of rock and metal, and the really old places have buildings going up several levels. Some of the newer communities have more clay. And there are mechanist workshops, and vendors, and schools and libraries, and of course the badge office and the teletappers."
Viv smiles to herself as she sorts through some metal, separating it into different piles.
"It's not all monocolour. There are some communities that run farms, mostly mosses and fungi and lichen. We don't have stars, but we've got sunroot, which looks a lot like what you have here, but each place has its own pattern." Viv rubs her eyes with a sleeve.

Ursel grimaces slightly. "Burrowing into the earth when there's so much life on the surface seems a bit..." She trails off when she sees Viv rubbing her eyes, letting out a soft sigh. "You miss it, I take it? I miss my home, too."

"Oh, no, it's just all this ash - getting into my eyes and frags - and there's plenty of things in the ground, too much magical paska in the air, it interferes with our technology," Viv almost argues at Ursel's response.
She looks at the piles around her. The small piles are now more distinct - large pieces of slightly-charred wood, wood that resembles charcoal, usable metal pieces, unusable metal and glass pieces, a trash pile and a large heap of ash.
"Dunno what you have to cycle products. But these look mostly reusable for things."

Ursel manages to unearth a mostly-intact stool, holding it up with a grin. "Behold, something made it through." She sets it down, dusting off her hands and smearing ash on her shirt. "As for this cycling or whatever you said I have no idea, most of this looks useless to be honest. We could have one hell of a bonfire if we felt like it, though."
