Sobering Up
#2
She returns later with the box filled with empty bottles and herbs. She has dirt smudged down the middle of her face and cheeks and is smiling. She sits down outside of her tent, sorting the herbs and sings to herself.

"A lovely maiden with golden hair,
A thin young man with a chest so bare,
He smiles to her and she bows to him,
The music starts and the dance begins,
Oh sing me a song of love and joy,
Tell me a tale of of battles won,
Taste the wine and break the bread,
Let no one be alone tonight,
The fire is hot and waters are calm,
Let us dance till the break of dawn!"

She taps her feet as she binds the herbs in thread, hanging them on a drying rack.
"Papa always said, a clock never goes backwards, it just keeps going forward. No matter how to wind the clock, it will always go forward. You must try and be like a clock and keep going forward because the past is past and you cant change that."
