Contact Alchemy on items
#1
So I have a few questions about Alchemy that I can't seem to find answers for.

1) if an item is coated in a contact alchemy and I pick it up with gloves, according to Ted on the Global forums the alchemy is still there. Can an alchemist then remove the alchemy off the item and put it back into a bottle? Example, I find a bobble with Slow Death, I bring it to an Alchemist and they "wipe" the Alchemy off into a bottle. I now have a potion and a bobble. Yes? No?

2) Can an Alchemist tell what alchemy is coated on something? I see a bobble, I'm not stupid so I pick it up with gloves and bring it to an alchemist. They spend an X count sniffing and looking at it and tell me it's coated in X alchemy. Yes? No?

From the Alchemy section of the rulebook on page 54

"... Each Alchemist has a basic knowledge of plants and herbs that allows them to identify known Alchemical concoctions after having examined the substance for one minute. This will not allow Alchemists to identify ingested Alchemy which has been applied to food or drink, or contact Alchemy which has been applied to a surface."

"((Referring to Alchemy 4)) ... If the alchemy is placed on a non-weapon object, the alchemical effect is applied to the first person to touch the object with their skin. One dose of this alchemy will cover one square foot of a non-weapon object. The area covered must be continuous and cannot be split across multiple items. The Alchemist will now be able to determine whether contact Alchemy is present on an object after examining it for one minute, but they will be unable to discern what type of Alchemy it is."

1) Picking it up with gloves will not activate Contact Alchemy; correct. As for wiping it off, I do not believe you can, just as you cannot squeeze the Ingested alchemy out of food its been soaked into.

2) You can tell there is Alchemy coated on something only by examining it for 1 minute while possessing 4 ranks of Alchemy. You cannot tell what kind of Alchemy, however.

As an extension to the question, would contact alchemy therefore only work if a target is struck into body by the weapon in question? And would not the contact alchemy itself stay active until such time that it is consumed by hitting to body/being touched by skin.

Ted answered that on the Global forums. No. Contact just needs to connect not go to body. It's like being hit by a gas globe.
