One Hell of a Party (a masquerade) Event Review
#11
I had a fantastic time. Like... damn. My review is very biased, as this is basically the event my character was made for.

Positive:
- The food was fantastic
- The demons were demon-y and the creepy stuff was creepy. Just little touches like spitting blood everywhere and having tarot card readings were great
- Dude, a fucking angel of Vesmir - and the costume was amazing. So was the Balrog's
- Everybody looked fab
- I enjoyed the casual religious advisor
- The unnamed merchant was very merchanty. I just really enjoy having him around. It adds to the immersion for me to have a merchant around
- The auction, and the arguments it caused, was great
- Feeling so very useful and being paid to do mediator stuff
- Watching people make demon deals
- Brent and Sean do amazing RP when anything mind-altering happens to them. Seriously excellent job, guys
- Dancing with people <3
- Guitar-shredding demon was sweeeeet
- Sevatar borrowing the ring to dance with Riven

Unfortunately a lot of the stuff I loved is kinda confidential. Specifically I loved everything with Ivanna and Justin, but Dan blew it out of the water. I appreciate it so much. <3 Go do RP roles in the future. My favourite parts were the cabin thingy with Dan and having to pause to laugh hysterically during said cabin thing. Also Ivanna checking up to make sure I could eat before eating time was over. Ralinwood is lucky to have such caring owners.

Negative:
- It seemed like there wasn't too too much to do for some people. More games would have been nice
- The music was generally not good for dancing to, thematic as it was
A petite wood fae in a corset and black velvet skirt. She wears a lot of gaudy jewellery and a wide-brimmed black hat. She speaks with a Received Pronunciation English accent.

I'm going to keep mine short.
+Angel of Vesmir
+Balrog
+RP between everyone
+Food
+Costuming
+Roland's questions

I have few negatives, so Ill give explanations on them
-Games. Very few, and really, for combat fighters it was there, but not all non-combats are RP heavy. Puzzles and mind games would have also sufficed.
-Imp. Now, the imps were good for being imps. How they went about it was in my opinion, wrong. They only interacted with PC who approached them, or PC were deep in RP as the imps passed by. Now, the imps should have been there to get PC who were doing nothing to do something, not disrupt PC who were doing something into focusing on the NPCs. Granted, had the imps not been "Look at me. Pay attention to me. Do things with me." I would have been much more receptive to theme.

Oh good, it's not just me. The imps could've gone to more use in entertaining people, especially the quiet ones.

If the imps were working towards a goal or a particular schtick besides "pay attention to me" - getting loot from PCs, convincing them to help in a ritual, etc. - they'd have an OOG point to being there. Maybe they were and I never bit the bait. Or they had individual character besides "pay attention to me" (I know Tara's was trying to convince us to play a game). In Ashendael a photo ninja took pictures and handed out tags saying it was a Gnomish image - a demonic photo ninja could've done the same.
Gnome Tinkerer, gold freckles and black, magenta and blue hair. Wears a tan cap, olive shirt and various devices. Probably sneezing.
