Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Ivanna - 07-15-2018 Thank you immensely to everyone for all their hard work. We made great efforts towards staying in game more often as well. Special thank you to the whole NPC and Log team for making things work ans the game go so well. And now... What did you like, what needs improvement, and what were your most exciting stories / moments / interactions? Tell us your thoughts! Any concerns or major complaints, please feel free to email contact@underworldralinwood.ca to speak to the Owners (myself and Dan) directly. Otherwise, see you next time! RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - NPCJenW - 07-15-2018 -That pool though. -So. Many. Feels. Q-Q Two good characters. -Bikar knocking a "wail of death" packet out of the air at 90/mph and giving a very sassy "Death Ward." -Being a brood is always fun and that wave battle made me happy -Bunny in a broom closet. -Goblin slam ball with Rio the war troll Ringer. Making up rules as we go along is fun. So is trading all your unconcious friends' stuff for an arm. -Playing very agitate water elementals and almost killing a bunch of people. -the genuine fear from my two headed wolf -Gigoliath's fighting spirit sunday morning. I've never seen him run across a field like that. -Chervil is always fun. "So you just released these lizards into the wild, did you?" "....how drunk are you?" -Everything about Swarm makes me laugh -Testing the waters as a greater fiend was enjoyable, I used to be afraid of bruiser combat roles but i am really starting to like them. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - A goblin played by Matty - 07-16-2018 Pros Sureeta. I know most of you likely didn't see it but this girl worked her ass off to make sure game went off without a hitch. Every mod I went on felt balanced and the mechanics were interesting. I liked the puzzles and clues. Personal favorite was the temporal one. The shapers did a fantastic job. I loved handling official business in the pool with Simon Dubois. Everything to do with the thing or leading up to it. I especially liked the events dedicated to each god. There is a lot of new players. I was so happy about that. I didn't see any newbie mods, but I saw them all contributing in regular ones so it worked out. Therians being gone means I can go into a mod and kill things again. Your monster marshal really adjusted the power level well. I bet that's hard to do Cons Parking. Its tight. Personal shaming to the guys who parked horizontally and blocked people in. Could we maybe stick a few cars behind the tavern? I'd be extremely happy to park there. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Alfric Smith - 07-16-2018 Like I've said for other events, as an NPC, it's a lot more easy to make the game fun when players work with you. This event was no different. A lot of you guys (players) went out of your way to talk to NPCs, get up to no good, and otherwise engage with what we were doing. I'm always happy when you guys pursue what we throw at you, and this game you guys really helped make it easy to have fun and make things cool. Somehow, though nothing stands out as exceptionally special individually, this might have been one of my favourite events so far, I kinda just had a nonstop good time. I do notice that some NPC shifts keep being dead, the ones around midday Saturday. It usually leaves us with fewer bodies to send out. I'm not calling anyone out or asking you to take those shifts specifically, but I'm curious as to what people's reasons are. I know some people choose the first/last shifts of the day/game if they play makeup races and want to avoid spending all that extra time, for example. Maybe if (not necessarily here) we talk about what drives people away from the saturday afternoon/evening shifts, we can get rid of those barriers and have more ammo for our mods. Otherwise, while we always want to send a ton of mods out with large casts, our number of NPCs at peak hours (like Friday night) are probably more than enough. We just need a few more people on those middle shifts. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Maximus - 07-16-2018 had a great time for the time i was at game! pros: *Funerals are always great rp, sad but greeat *pool *had a great time npcing cons: parking! RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Izazel - 07-16-2018 PROS: - “Helping” the farmers - The monster hunting mod was once again a highlight of my weekend. The mechanics were cool (and deadly, but hella fun) and I continue to be very impressed with the results!! - Sureeta is a log goddess and none of us deserve her. Robin and Falcon are amazing too. - Ivanna’s breakfast sausages. Yumm <3 CONS: - Saturday. I didn’t participate in the Thing, and I didn’t expect much to happen during that - especially since it was so hot - but some minor mods (like maybe insta mods) would have been stellar. You know. For adventuring. I NPCd in the morning, and I understand how backed up the camp can get when some people aren’t punctual or organized, but that doesn’t justify hours of playing catch up. As it was, I spent the majority of the afternoon draining in the heat with nothing to do, then two wave battles (brood and undead spectres) sapped the rest of my strength and patience. - Mosquitoes. Personal Highlights: - Everything and everyone about my camp. You guys are the best, and I’m so happy to see new faces mingling with familiar ones. All you wonderful pcs remind me why I do this to myself once a month. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Swarm! - 07-16-2018 + So many bugs. (Every morning, a bug at my tent.) + Brood showed their face almost A.S.A.P. (squish!) + Druid RP felt as if I had a purpose. (Don't miss the wytch hate at all) + Swimming + Trying to get Tavern to come bring me food outdoors. (Wentches be lazy) + Legit 12 people coming up to me, "What race do I see, are those eyes or tattoos." + My ant colony grows! More for the swarm! + My Grove being an ant hole/hill for the most part. Sadly I had a spot for it online and it was covered by desks and fire wood. (oh well.)My down sides. (Most of which plot can't "fix") - Stupid hot (not your fault.) - I can't believe I'm typeing this, but the bugs omg.. even as swarm by the end of the weekend I was screaming parasites like mosquitos belong to Bagh and the blood wytch just kill em! Then the npc mosquitos attacked. Best weekend in a long time, mainly BC I was not worried for my life and PC's were not trying to kill me on a constant level. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Riven Shadowlight - 07-16-2018 “OH” I thought sleeping through a 12hr coma would make this easier to write but…oh boy, that is not the case. I still think you “won” LARP. The character choices you made weren’t always the most logical or safe—hell, a lot of them were just straight up insane—but I think that’s what allowed you to experience what this game has to offer in a way that other PCs never will whether because they’re too afraid of repercussion or they’re just incapable of realizing the options that are truly available to them. Your roleplay was always superb, and I doubt that I’m alone in saying that interacting with this character was a primary motivation for me to keep coming back to this game. I think that’s pretty evident through the magnitude of the ripples affecting the community right now. She is truly one of the most beloved characters to enter game. That last hour was simultaneously perfect and agonizing all at the same time. There is so much that you want to say but can’t because you’re trying to process a reality you don’t want to accept—or at least thought was far, far, far, far, far away in the future. It will always remain as one of my most memorable and defining moments at LARP. I can only imagine what you’re going through yourself right now, so I hope people aren’t being butts. I will fight them. I can’t think of anything else to say that isn’t just me listing all the great times our characters had together so… I really can’t wait to see what you bring into game next. If they’re even a fraction of how great this one was, they’re going to be a blast. PS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gekHV9DIjHc (the “s” stands for suffering) RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Promises - 07-16-2018 + I'm proud of the log team. I think they've got their head around it better then I did. Game hasn't gotten smaller. + I had doubts about the pool but it was amazing. + Don't want to encourage more fae proliferation but the pool fae were alright. + Will Barber brought bugspray to an evening mod. Thank you. + Monster Hunter's mod was appropriate difficulty and made me see how fast I could run. + Moot was cool + S'mores patrol + Lots of new faces. +/- I didn't reuse a single piece of costuming and I still got asked if I was Sevatar 5x. Kind of flattering. - Cabins are a humidity trap. A blind eye to fan infernalism would go a long way. RE: Event Review - Getting Their Hands Dirty (July 2018) - Ebon Shadowmane - 07-16-2018 Oi boy that was a humid as all heck event. I dont know what was more moist; the air we had to swim threw, the pool, or the wig and mask i wear as my wolven. Super fun shout outs to all dem npcs doing their damn best to entertain the shit out of all us cranky hot sweaty players. Yall deserve a round of applause and so much more love then yall normally get. Had a blast doin all dem fun things, love that players had set up things to do during saterdays mid day slowdown. The Thing was neat to see, and the Crossroads stuff was really swell. Loved playing it up at the knife fights, being a goof and drunkenly stumbling around and falling down all while winning. Loved hearing the crowd boo me then cheer as I fell over drunk, only to hear a gasp as I hamstring a contestant from the flat of my back. Was great fun. I hope we get another of these little tourny type things soon. Maybe with less loopholes where i can cheat hahaha.(or maybe with more loopholes cause cheatin is fun) Thanks to npc camp for opening up that pool. At the hottest most muggiest point of the day I was starting to feel real awful as my stubborn ass would not take my racials off. Then noticed my hands shaking and headache beginning i went over and sat with my feet in the pool and racials off. Oh boy did that really really help. I was really starting to double think why I picked wolven as a race haha. Was doubting myself real hard and kicking my own ass for havin to taking the racials off and not being able to "man up" threw the heat. SWASHBUCKLER time woooo. After all those intense training sessions with Dupont I am finally officially a swashbuckler! The last bit of training was super intense and really really well done on Wills part. Im sorry i was so night blind my head got in the way of your sword twice was epic as all heck tho. I cant thank you enough for putting the time and effort into designing and running such fun trainings for me and the other people who came once or twice. Sorry Im not the greatest dancer(2 left paws) haha but I tried my best each and every time. I took all your lessons to heart in game and out of game and I feel my combat and footwork have actually really improved! Yay!Im not sure if its a funny joke or not but for a port town we sure have a lot of fires. Fire elementals. Fire drakes. Demons shooting fire. Fire pits. Flares. Giant fire spells covering large aoe. As a wolven this game i felt I had to stay the fuck back from everything in fear of being popped like pop corn.(maybe all these things are why it was so hot and muggy tho lol) Anyways great game, had loads of fun, am coming back again and again. Cant praise the shapers and owners and npcs and volunteers enough. Yall make these weekends the best most fun weekends Ive ever had. |
