Archery Practice (1/13/2015) - MM/NPL Dustin - 01-13-2015
Dex has rolled a large hay bale into the center of town off to the side of the tavern. A big red circle is painted on the bale, with several arrows already placed in and around the circle. The side of the bale opposite the tavern is roped off with a tall stake on either side. Dex stands about ten meters from the bale with Elias' borrowed bow in hand, knocking another arrow and drawing back. His left arm is shaking slightly from his lack of experience, but he lets the arrow fly and it lands on the outside edge of the red circle. He shakes his hand and knocks another arrow, taking aim a second time and places it a few inches closer to the center. At this point, he has run out of arrows and walks to the target to collect them.

"Hail Dex." *Luna smiled brightly, as she walks towords him, Her bow strapped on her back.* "How's it going so far?"

Dex turns to her with a smile as he finishes collecting his arrows and returns to the firing line. He raises his left arm, which jitters slightly when raised, "Cold, nerves and lack of conditioning. I'm shakin' like a leaf." Dex turns his body perpendicular with the target, "Got the basics down though." He knocks his arrow and lays it on the left side of the bow, then he draws the string back to his cheek and lets the shot go. The shot goes slightly wide and sticks into the border of the red ring.

"You cant stop breathing like that when you shoot." *Luna smiles soflty, as pulls her bow off her back. "Your breathing affects how you hold yourself."
*Luna picks up and arrow showing him as she speaks.*
"You hold your arm to tense, relax yourself. Look to were you want to aim, breath in and then as you breath out- take your shot."
*Luna takes the shot hitting the second ring second the center.*
"I am off today."

"You ain't the only one sweet'art." Dex mutters, knocking another arrow. This time he exhales deeply and lets the arrow fly, burying it closer to the center of the target than he had all day.

"Thats better." *Luna smiled softly, before lining up her target again taking shot- her arrow landing beside Dex's. "We both just need to relax."

"Heh, yeah, would be easier in warmer weather." Dex draws another arrow and puts it between the last two fired, be it intentional or accidental, "I'll always be better with blades than bows I think."

*Levi walks by, bundled up, and takes a detour to watch the archers practice. He stands at a bit of a distance and waits politely and quietly, watching.*

"I'm not good with a blade." *Shakes her head with a frown. As she takes another shot hitting the middle target above the first arrow. * "staff and the bow is all I know."

"Well, practice makes perfect." Dex says, pulling out another arrow and knocking it, "Up until just before I came here, I didn't know how to use anything but knives, now I can shoot a bow." Dex lines up a shot, placing it a step closer towards the center.
