Training with Jarl Grimnir - Calidonia - 01-13-2015
*Calidonia walks through town and towards Muintir. She is carrying her sword and shield, and is wearing her training attire. For once, her braid is actually neat and there is no mud on her face. She looks around the Einish camp with a serious look on her face.*

Grimnir smiles as he meets her just before the camp and gestures to the open space about them, he is wearing his full combat outfit with sword at hip and shield. "I am glad you came, Calidonia. If you prefer I can use a bastard sword as well. Or if you so desire I can use the longsword at my hip. I would like you to attempt to harm me during these practices, I will not go easy on you. You are Einher, and you will earn your place in the shield wall." His expression is serious, but his tone caring.

"You're welcome to, no harm in having a doctor nearby. I will be pulling my strikes to ensure she is not harmed." Grimnir smiles, "I will leave bruises, not cuts. But I want you to treat me as a foe and come at me with all you know."

*Calidonia nods, her expression reflects his seriousness* Yes, my Jarl. I hope to earn that place quickly. In regards to weapons, I have no preference, the long sword is fine. *She prepares herself, pulling her sword to the side, and her shield in front of her.*

Grimnir nods to her, holding his shield at his side and drawing his sword. "Then we shall begin. Let us see how you start this skirmish."

*Nia darts forward and then to the side, bringing her sword up towards Grimnir's right side. She stays near the edge of her reach, hoping to use the longer length of her sword to her advantage.*

He smiles as he turns his posture, his shield darting up and slamming the edge into her sword, letting her keep her distance as he pushes her blade to the side.

*She steps back, before jumping forward again, this time aiming lower, towards Grimnir's flank.*

"Not bad." The jarl stepping into the attack and locking his shield into it and thrusting his sword off of the rim of his shield towards her chest. The metal rim of the shield causing sparks with the bastard sword.
