Bow help? - River_forestwolven - 01-12-2015

where is the best place to get a bow? I attempted to look on how to make but, but its over my head.
So I think I will just cheat and buy one. But the question is where should I go and roughly how much should I spend on it?

Canadian Tire has a kid's bow that works quite well.

Oh buy one like mine! They're very period, sturdy, and just beaaaautiful

I own the "Horseman Bow Brown". It's a little more expensive but I just adore mine! Caution, you will likely have to buy a replacement string, they don't stand up to moisture well and no matter how hard I tried I ended up having to buy a new one.
Also, this site is great for arrows! If you want to get the latex ones (which about half of us use) the ones with the plastic fletchings stand up to a beating better.

IF you plan to use latex. I advise the open cell tipped ones. You will need to tape them, but they compress well and make shooting safer in general.

I may go with the crappy tire one, just because the silicon elf ears are going to break my bank. (Latex ears = hospital for me)

Thanks guys!

If you have a feasible way of getting to Wallaceburg, there is a fantastic archery shop there. G&K Archery. They have a few lower poundage bows similar to those carried by Canadian Tire and Walmart (Bear Archery brand, I believe), and they also have lots of arrows in lots of materials for decent prices.

I love the bow that I recently got from the Pro Bass Shop. Less than 30 weight. Plus arrows were on for a fantastic price. 12 carbon arrows for $70-80 and 6 for $39.99.

I personally do not like any latex arrows or bolts. I feel they hurt x4 as bad than normal arrows. So please make sure that if you are interested in any latex, that you go for center of mass and practice a lot.
