RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Gustav Von Schattenkrieger - 03-29-2015 *Turns and begins to walk away from the gathering* RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - River_forestwolven - 03-29-2015 *Watches as Drakkon walks away, looking even more confused* RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Andrei Katrares - 03-29-2015 *Levi shakes his head.* "I beg your pardon if I am speaking out of turn, sir, M'Lord, M'Lady. I mean no ill intent but seek to address some of the conversation I am overhearing. Firstly, fighting folk want leaders they look up to and respect, and as it stands many here share neither of those feelings for me, so I would make a poor choice for any captaincy. Secondly, we are conflating our position in all this with what our egos think we are capable of. We number less than a hundred, fewer still capable at arms. Either the Noble Muster and Naval Service arrive in numbers sufficient to counter the orc threat, with our assistance, or we abandon the settlement. Or we are put to the sword. Either way, though we may come to play a pivotal role, we are as a militia not only a small consideration, but not a basis around which a reasonable plan of attack may be formed. Whatever force comes to our aid, we are part of their designs and under their leadership, and not the other way around. Will we need leaders on the battlefield? Perhaps, if we are not under direct command. But we may worry about that in due time. For now we can only hope to draw as potent an armed force as we can to our aid, and to learn and relay as much information about our foe as we can. So do not scramble to assign ranks and captaincies that will too soon be taken away. Let's have out all the information we know, here and now for all to hear, so that the Nobles and Naval Service may make the most pertinent decision. Jarl Grimnir is speaking of the tribes by name, and that seems to me as good a starting point as any. Who are these tribes? Do we know anything about their resources, leadership, flaws we can exploit? Even knowing the names so we do not confuse them with the orcs of Cassan is a good start to prevent espionage on their part." RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Vali Fenrick - 03-29-2015 *Vali yells from his spot at the back of the group* If we cut of the bloody head of this snake off ta orcs will probably end up killin each other until dey find a new chief. RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Andrei Katrares - 03-29-2015 "Yes, I've heard that suggested many times. Can anyone here actually name or identify their chieftains?" RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Rolin Smith - 03-29-2015 *Rolin moves forward from the treeline.* "My lord my lady, I wish to address this personally. " *Rolin looks to Grimnir with a curiosity.* "I am curious as to your sudden disinterest in aiding me to ensure the safety of the town. I have proposed my plan of action to our triumvirate, I have spent much time with my Lord Bantry. I would assume you would not challenge the noble with the most experience in battle. Grmnir, you are a commander of men, that is why I came to you, and why I ask for your faith. I have pledged my fealty to the triumvirate, and they have accepted. I have offered my plan and they have accepted, and granted me access to the war room when the cavalry arrive." *Rolin looks to the assembled.* "Ladies and gentlemen assembled, I have been given the faith of our nobility, I have offered them a battle plan that will cull the numbers we need to deal with. A plan that will correct their access to resources to harm us. I understand those on the front line that have reservations. Why do you think I hang back, the smithing circle is the best opportunity to guage armour strength. Who is over Zealous, who looks before they leap. There is a difference between one that is in the frey and one that has a hold of the bigger picture." *Rolin looks to Grimnir.* "Our time is precious, every moment we wait is another death in our colony. Will you join my core of four?* RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Brennus - 03-29-2015 *brennus looks over to Rolin* i'm more then interested to hear this plan, i've been scrounging as best i can to come up with something might be time for a fresh perspective. RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Branya - 03-29-2015 Lady Urquart speaks. "I believe Levi speaks wisely. These plans are brave and patriotic but we simply don't have the numbers to handle this on our own. That is why it is so important to give lieutenant Farraday an accurate picture. We need support from the navy and that means giving good reasons. " She scans the crowd. "Primrose, what is your news about the north? We have so many to speak about orcs and nothing about this other problem. " RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Brennus - 03-30-2015 *brennus bows again as best he can* Of course my lady. I think most here know we cannot win on our own i have merely been trying to come up with a way to deal with the mine as it would serve as a suitable staging ground for whichever force might help us. I think with a bit of aid taking the orcs forward base is achievable by our smaller force. RE: Midday at the Pavillions (Thursday, noon) - Primrose - 03-30-2015 Primrose sighs and bows at the Lady's request. "My Lady, we have much reason to believe that a group called the White Company is coming to attack Ralinwood. They have been funded by... some people of significance, hence our unusual arrival here. This man can tell you more, he's been keeping a tight lid on the information, even from me." She turns to Kraye and nods. |
