((For clarity's sake can I ask, did the Skein gate break or did the portal solidify and shatter but the gate framework is still there?))

Grimnir sighs as he awaits his hearing. Wiping away any blood and gritting his teeth as lightning sparks off his armour. Turning to look around he sighs and sits down, pressing snow to his ear to quell the pain. "Stay away from the accursed thing."

((The portal solidified and shattered, and remained in shards. The gate framework is intact, and mostly unscathed.))
After a few minutes, the shards of the portal dissipate.
