*He casts out his rod again, flicking it slightly ever so often*

The rod dips and shudders slightly, like something is toying with the hook and bait but not taking it fully. The sensation goes away after about twenty seconds. When Arcadeus next raises his hook, the bait is gone.

*He replaces the hook with more small fish bait and expert places it in the water, letting it sink, but wriggling the line as would a drowning small creature*

The rod is still over the calm water, but something like the silhouette of a thick serpent circles around the line curiously. An appendage separates from the smooth torso and latches onto the bait. There is sudden tension on the line.
