"YA IM FINE MUNINN!!...BUT HELP ME FIGURE OUT A WAY TO SHUT THIS THING OFF!!!" -kare having to yell being the closest one to the gate and his ears bleeding, if the gate allows him to touch the outer rim of the portal he tries to feel for a button or something

All the stone panels near the Skein Gate are flickering with light, sparks casting off of them intermittently. As Kare nears the Skein Gate again, he crosses over the line again and disappears, this time reappearing a few feet away on the same side of the line.
The crackling noise grows louder and nearer, and a roaring, ripping boom shakes the settlement as a storm of sparks crash southward from the direction of the sea. The clear morning is lit up brightly by the blast of sparks and lightning as it impacts the Skein Gate, shattering the portal like so much glass. Barely slowed, it continues southward, a deafening boom audible as it blows past. Sparks are flickering and dissipating hungrily from the blast in all directions, charging the air. ((Anyone within 20 feet of the line takes 10 Elemental Lightning))
As the blast of lightning blows past and things begin to settle, the rumbling has ceased, like pressure suddenly released from a container. The air remains charged and randomly sparks, but everything is suddenly dead quiet.
Stefan, who had been within the snowdrift when the wave of energy blasted through, is nowhere to be seen.
((EDIT: Note, elemental damage will be taken off of armor first.))

"AAAAAHHH!!" -Kare screams out in pain as the lighting hits him and sends him flying back into the snow, his cloak smoking as parts of it catch fire, the metal studs of his Studded leather armor are hot from the lightning-
