RE: Orc Threat - Alaxel Vane - 01-02-2015 "Brennus, you misunderstand." Alaxel adjusts her purple mask. "I am saying that a hit and run will be good, but it will enrage them and encourage the Orcs to attack us in force." She looks at the assemblage keenly. "They must be weakened from within. Last night by the fire, it was suggested that we capture an Orc, and get information about the camp from him. But, what if we could send him back to his people, with a little more than what he came in with?" She smiles. "A little alchemy, perhaps." RE: Orc Threat - Sigurd Vask - 01-02-2015 Grimnir nods stoically, "As I said, my men and I will see what we can do about capturing someone for you to gather knowledge from and use as a tool in the coming wars. Callum, do you have anything to add? You have a tactical mind well suited to this." The Jarl looking at the map and then to Brennus. "How far is their closest hunting ground?" RE: Orc Threat - Shaper Raccoon - 01-02-2015 Callum looks over the map briefly then takes a moment to think. "meself? I would hit the river first, Kill the orcs bringing supplies and destroy the boats. Maybe even close the route to them if ye can this will cut off any rations they be bringing in and force the hunters out further than they may normally hunt. This will probably thin them and make them easy to capture or eliminate." RE: Orc Threat - Brennus - 01-02-2015 *brennus nods as everyone speaks their minds* I'm not so worried about enraging them, they mean to attack us but they are waiting for the spring to bring their full force from the mountains. dragging them out of their fort would be to our advantage. If they could destroy us already they would have. moving on mass through the woods would be to dangerous to be effective, the elves like them even less then they like most einher haha! RE: Orc Threat - Brennus - 01-02-2015 *brennus nods again* I like the drugged orc idea, but whose to say they want have similar intoxicants to turn that orc back? RE: Orc Threat - Sigurd Vask - 01-02-2015 "We can use multiple tactics. The more ways we keep them the busy, the better off we are." RE: Orc Threat - Alaxel Vane - 01-02-2015 Alaxel nods. "Absolutely correct, Grimnir. Multiple fronts are harder to defend against than a single one, no matter what form they take. Besides, Orcs are a martial people. The chances of a war and resource party having anything save healing elixirs is exceedingly slim." She taps her chin in thought. "And it would not be an ordinary drug either. A dominate elixir, and the Orc will be more than willing to spill the beans. Further, he can be...persuaded to perhaps, set their food stores aflame." She chuckles. "Even if it's not successful, rest assured it is an avenue these people cannot even begin to expect." RE: Orc Threat - Brennus - 01-02-2015 *Brennus scratches his bearded chin slowly as he thinks* the orc catching can be done at any point during other raids, but i think we are all thinking along the same lines: Death by a thousand cuts. about the alchemy do we have access to something that..uhm...unscrupulous? RE: Orc Threat - Alaxel Vane - 01-02-2015 "Death by a thousand cuts? It will happen, there are strong warriors in Ralinwood." Alaxel touches her mask as if by habit. "But alchemy is simply a tool, much like a sword. And at the end of the day, you'll want to minimize the casualties." She bows. "I know how to make this elixir, but I am not fully trained to create an ingestible solution, nor do I have the resources to produce it. If I can contact an alchemists guild, we can work together to create the potion, I think." She looks apologetic as she speaks. RE: Orc Threat - Sigurd Vask - 01-02-2015 "I'll handle harassing their hunters and capture any I can." Grimnir smirked, "It'll be a fun way to test my new skills." |
