RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Aelin - 07-27-2014 Best Game Moment: When Lady Urquart's squire stuck the dragon symbol to Lord Bantry's coat and warded it so that he couldn't get to it. That was hilarious! Pros: + The big pack of screaming einher that came with the fog. Thrilling as all hell! + Getting suckered into playing the games on Saturday. Round and round the tail of the worm goes, I got so dizzy! XD + The fae tea party! I think that was POSSIBLY the scariest part of game for me! The three of us were sitting there, and I was just going 'oh good gods don't fuck this up!' in my head the whole time. But it was fun! I'm glad I went even though everyone else was freaking out and scared stupid of it! ![]() + Yay personal plot! + Fireside songs in camp. Austin needs to bring his guitar always. Cons: - Having a hell of a time getting blacksmithing RM. Between drops and merchant and trade, not a speck all weekend. - The heat was horrible. If it's that bad again, I hope that any major battles can be done in the evening like the fog/einher mod. - We really need easier access to running water that can be used for filling up water bottles. I know there's a tap in the kitchen but it's not always easy to get in there. Hot days like this weekend, and people going down due to dehydration, need more access to water. Even if we just had some igloos that could be filled up in the kitchen and put on the table for people to refill at. I, for one, have no issues with tap water. - The smoke for the fog mod was awful. It looked great, but I've dealt with smoke grenades for years at work, and I've always hated them. They make me choke up horribly. Not to mention they reek so badly it's not funny. - I don't know what the heck was going on with the healing circle in town, but it seemed to be a constant argument between PC's as to whether or not it was a healing circle, or it was just the ward circle, and I think it was because it was different from the one done at last event (the one last event had a prop in the middle (a bowl and a bottle with blue liquid in it, and there was a secondary circle to rep the line for the ward). It should be consistent each time so it doesn't confuse people. - ALSO! Since we seem to be responsible for doing the Lady's dragon mark on our faces with makeup ourselves, we need a straight answer as to whether or not the mark has to be in a specific place on the body. I received conflicting answers on that and it was irritating since I seemed to be the only player with a stencil and I got glared at because another player started saying it was on the wrong cheek, though neither the Lady nor her squire made mention of it being in the wrong spot on anyone. Overall amazing event! But this heat needs to bugger off and die right shortly.
RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Gustav Von Schattenkrieger - 07-27-2014 Aside from some armour malfunctions throughout the weekend the only complaint from me is how Saturday night died out after the crazed beings attacked the town. Was in three different locations for extended periods of time and not a peep or sighting of a non-player was had in a couple of hours so went to bed and didn't hear anything at all the rest of the night. Overall, good weekend. - Teaching players to play Shiva's Wrath. Cudos to the ladies who played and who were willing to take the really punishments right along side us guys. Teaching the game was fun and I was glad to see that everyone who participated had a good time as well. - Interacting with newer players. I enjoy the comraderie that I already have with those of us who work and/or play at the Jericho chapter so interacting with the players that call this chapter home is an added touch. Cudos to any of you who approached me this weekend and started up conversations. Drakkon isn't the easiest person to approach or deal with most of the time. - Sven.....have a feeling you are going to get me in trouble sooner or later. - Lord Vintner's mocking Lord Bantry while holding a shield and a mace.....had our whole group cracking up........loved it. Especially when Bantry looked over at us. - Bantry's jacket dragon marked and tossed into the circle where he couldn't get it. Bantry is NOT amused lol - Crazed Berzerker attack. Had no idea why what happened did happen at the time but was definitely a good fight. Still don't understand the bit with the threshold but c'est la vie. Definitely had me running away most of the time. Still getting used to fighting with such short weapons. - Seeing Liet put on the "Elven face" over his own after he talked me into giving it to him to give a proper burial instead of tossing it into the fire. You sick puppy you lol ![]() - Interactions while around the fire Saturday in the Courtyard. Good times had with a good group of people. - Being told by Silv in a very stern voice with a a very stern expression that the ginger haired Elf was her's......including his ears so no stab stab snip snip lol Not that I have been hunting for bounties anyways but it was good RP and I had trouble keeping a straight face - Capturing (almost killing....ty for the healing Uther) a Blue Swan Merc on his way to breakfast this morning and the RP that ensued around it. - Why was it mostly Vintner oathsworn that defended the town this morning? Because we are awesome. That is why ![]() - Fighting the first wave of the final mod alongside Emerald Company, downing to Blue Swans with my stiletto thanks to having a lesser Elemental Blade on it, and not one of our side being captured while taking all of the Swans captive. Likely a few other cool moments that I can't think of right now. RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Raven - 07-27-2014 my pros: the shapeshifting bear encounter late friday night at camp muintir the fog attack, gave me shivers. shiva's wrath was exciting, makes me want to get a red arm band. and drakkon was a great teacher. experiencing the game with the vet players, many were very helpful to a new player my cons: heat to many damn things to do or kill, i barely got a chance to eat. bahah RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Retired - 07-27-2014 I will post a better review after more sleep, but for now + I had a blast + I ran + I fought + I hid + The Einher camp looked great. With the Beards, hair, and amour they looked like they just came from the set of Vikings +Everyone looked great +Lots of laughs +24 Hour Self Serve Tavern with ice cold water and pop when ever I was even a little bit thirsty....UH-MAZING +Friday night bug-hunt mod in the tall grass is one my most favorite mods I've ever been on +The Alchemy Supplies mod on Saturday was also awesome. It forced everyone to work together to deal with plants and angry giant trees instead of just turning into a giant kill amoeba....I love fighting slow moving things that swing massive! +Great wave battles! More in depth stuff tomorrow! Thanks for a an amazing event Plot and NPC's! Solid A RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Gustav Von Schattenkrieger - 07-27-2014 Just for the record......that was an NPC character I was using to teach the game Munin....you are welcome. We need to take care of ourselves since we are all adults, but, it doesn't hurt to remind someone to take a load off before falling down or to get a drink into them as they look like they need it. RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Andrei Katrares - 07-27-2014 Full review coming when I'm able to think again. Basically 12/10 would PC again. In the meanwhile, I leave you this image of Brad and a terrified NPC.
RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Gustav Von Schattenkrieger - 07-27-2014 LMFAO ![]() That amuses me greatly
RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Mylene - 07-27-2014 The entire weekend was AWESOME!! Top Three Pros Meeting another Einher woman and becoming good friends. Winning my first game of Shiva's Wrath. The Saturday night and Sunday morning mods were SO INTENSE!!!! (I'm still having a bit of a hard time getting into heavy roleplaying but I specifically enjoyed roleplaying my reaction to the death of my husband Saturday night with my Einher family and my friends from camp Muintir. Too bad it was dark... I had ACTUAL tears pouring down my face.)Cons Matty was brought to the hospital WAAAY too early Sunday morning. He found out that he has a kidney stone. His family missed him during morning combat. Baruk snores. RE: "A Gentleman's Wager" July Event Reviews - Stars - 07-27-2014 Pros: -The fighting, the killing, the looting -My NPC shift was great -The orcs were hilarious and were awesome to hang around with -The fog was a great touch and hopefully I can improve my rp as an Einher with it -The Einher quest was great for what I could partake in -A lot of the vets are really helpful as well as a lot of the npcs -Having a ceremony to send Sebastian to Valhalla -Not being able to see a night and running into bushes and trees really adds the realism Overall it was a great event and cant wait till the next one Cons: -Losing Sebastian to an ogre. I still call my sword Sebastian and then I cry a little because he's no longer here. Farewell my brother -As great as the fog was it did cause me and a few others difficulty breathing -Saturday felt really slow until 1:00 pm -The heat was pretty bad and took me out for a couple hours Saturday -Fighting over a box that had no reason to be fought over -People thinking that for what ever reason that they are better than you -Losing my beard the first night RE: "Just a Matter of Business" July Event Reviews - Chèvrelier - 07-27-2014 Quote:ALSO! The Dragon Mark must be on your cheek and visible, but the rules do not specify which cheek. It should be consistent each time so it doesn't confuse people. Part of the problem is that the Sign of the first born is technically not a circle, it only prohibits people coming within 10ft of the Sign. I am hoping that a more impressive (and possible lit) sign will help with the Ward portion. |
